Why tablet instead of softgel? Isn’t vit D better taken in oil suspension for best availability?

Many thanks for your query. When formulating our vitamin D3 product, we did consider an oil-based formulation due to the high bioavailability, however there are additional benefits to using tablet delivery over oil; most notably, vitamin D3 in tablet form does not require the presence of additional fat for its uptake. Vitamin D3 supplements in oil form must be taken with additional fat, and certainly not on an empty stomach.

Whilst oil-based formulations are certainly good, a number of studies comparing the  bioavailability of different Vitamin D formulations (e.g. oil versus powder/tablet) found that oil and powder (used to make tablets) have very similar bioavailability and that there are considerable benefits to using tablet form over oil delivery (for those with gallbladder or fat malabsorption issues, for example). Research suggests that, in order for Vitamin D oil capsules to be fully absorbed they must be consumed with additional fats; those with fat digestion issues, or anyone taking their supplement with a low fat meal, may therefore not be gaining the full benefits.  As a company that works with thousands of healthcare practitioners across the world, we are hearing increasingly often about the extent of fat malabsorption issues; in the light of this, coupled with the research showing that oil and powder are equally bioavailable, we decided to formulate a tablet to ensure everyone taking this supplement would be able to fully digest and absorb the contents.

What is the expiration date of this product ? or how long does each bottle last ?

Many thanks for getting in touch.

The expiry date of our latest batch of Pure & Essential Daily Vitamin D3 is 31/05/22; however, Amazon may stock varying batches with slightly different expiry dates.  There are 365 tablets in one tub and the adult daily dose is recommended as one-per-day; therefore, one tub of Pure & Essential Daily Vitamin D3 should last you a year.

How many mg is this

Hi. It doesn’t give how many mg. But...it. says each tablet is 2000iu and that is the amount you should take each day. You get a years supply...365. I found them excellent. My vitamin d was as low as 24 (should be 84). These tablets pushed it up to normal. I started at 3 pills a day and worked down to one. Lin
