ELEGANT Grey Soft Rubber Shower Door Seal for Folding Bath Screen 1200mm

Wanted a replacement rubber seal for the shower door. I couldn’t find one for our make of shower enclosure which sadly is the case when you buy after some years parts are a problem. Took a punt with this as I intended to trim it down to the shape I wanted. Came and was great quality, soft and flexible. Not as severe looking as the original black. Slid in the recess perfectly and I didn’t need to trim it down because the seal was great. Great buy.

This is a perfect fit for a 5 door folding glass shower door that fits on the side of a bath. A point to note is that the rubber is secured at both ends, so you will need to remove the whole screen fron the wall before fitting this. Once the door is laying flat, it's fairly easy to pry off the end cap using a small flat bladed screwdriver (I found that a flat blade precision screwdriver was perfect for this). The end that goes against the wall is fed up inside and is tied by a knot. It's easy to access and a snip with scissors below the knot allowed the removal of the old rubber. Inserting the new rubber is very easy and you should reattach the clip at the non-wall end first. This will leave an amount sticking out at the wall end that you can then trim in the same way that the old one was. You then poke the remaining part up inside (although we didn't tie it this time). Refix to the wall and voila. I would stress that although one person can do this job, the door is heavy so 2 people is easier. Also I wouldn't recommend switching the shower on whilst bent over in the bath screwing in the lower screw as you will get wet and it's cold!!! All told, it took us about 30 minutes from start to finish (including the unexpected shower) 🤣

Renting a property with a shower that has a glass folding door means that one of the first things I did when we moved in was to replace the seal as it had not been properly cleaned by the previous tenant and so was very discolored. When looking for a replacement seal it was important that I managed to get something that would work well, be easily fitted and be cheap and so with this appearing to tick all of the boxes I decided this was the one to go for. The seal was easy to fit and looks good thanks to it being transparent meaning it matches with the glass and metal frame for the door well. The reason I only give the item 4 stars is that the seal is described as soft but myself and my wife have found that it is actually a lot more stiff than the previous seal on the door but as it works well and looks good I really think that this is a small price to pay for that.
