X-O Odor Neutralizer Cleaner Concentrate with Mild Cleaning Additive - Natural, Plant-Based Odor Eliminator Deodorizer, 32 oz

What I like about this product is that it seems to do the job on eliminating odors very well. I’ve mainly used this product to eliminate urine from carpets. As my elderly father has dementia, he has urinated on his bedroom floor on several occasions. This product which I’ve mixed in with the carpet cleaner shampoo has done a remarkable job at killing all the smell. I’ve also had to use it in my truck where someone sat that hat cat urine on their clothes and now my cloth seat smelled like cat urine. Again it eliminated all traces of that smell as well. This is my second time purchasing this product. What I didn’t much care for is the scent. When I first starting using this product I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because of the scent. However when the product dries that scent is no longer present My over all satisfaction with this product is mainly a 5 star. I say mainly because I do think it’s rather expensive but it works. I do recommend this product if you are faced with any of the issues that I have encountered

My sick kitty (bladder infection) went wee on my couch several times. I tried three other products and all helped some, but none eliminated enough of the odor that we couldn't smell urine when coming into the room with the couch (at first they'd work, but slowly the smell would get worse again). So, in a last ditch effort to avoid having to get rid of it, we decided to try X-O. Just as with the other products, I used a needle/syringe to inject the solution into the cushion and the back (our cushions are not removable). I used a 1 part X-O to 2 parts water for this. After injecting it, I poured the mix on top of the cushion to give it a good soaking. So far, so good. It's been over a month. The product's odor was a bit overwhelming for a day or so, but just as the mfr states, there was no odor once dried. Also gone was the majority of the urine odor. If I put my nose right next to the cushion, there's still a hint, so I'm thinking I may need to reapply, but when I sit on, or next to the cushion, I cannot smell it. At first I worried that perhaps I'd just gotten used to the urine smell, but I've asked both friends and family if they could smell anything nasty when they walk in the room or when they sit on the couch, and all have said they can't (and I know, for sure, my parents and at least two of the friends would not have been shy about saying there is a stench!) The only downside is, my dark green couch now has dark outlines along the edges of every area where I applied the solution. We knew this was a possibility going into this, but hubby and I decided that discoloration of some kind was preferable to having to either live with the smell or getting rid of the couch. And, I'm not entirely sure that if I were to now try to clean the couch that the stains wouldn't go away, particularly since the fabric didn't fade. But even if it had, it would have been well worth it. After my success, I applied this to the carpet at my mother's house (no discoloration or staining occurred) where her kitten had taken to going poo in a few spots along a wall when she first brought it home. We used the same ratio for the mix and just poured it onto the carpet and let it soak in. The kitten has not reoffended since. She now does her business only in her litter box. ******** Update: My mom's kitty went poo in the corner today, but I'm so happy with my couch results I can't take a star off for this. I just wanted to share what happened because we thought the kitten wouldn't do it again after us putting the x-o there. She's not quite 3 months old. Not sure what is attracting her to this spot. She's not done this anywhere else in the house. Will reapply and see if that helps.

I hope the company can figure out the supply chain issues, because this stuff really works! I have used this for years. I think I bought the last 3 available.

Been using XO for years ... never fails me .... some people complain about its initial smell.... my advice is "get past it" as it doesn't linger and IT DOES THE JOB EXCELLENTLY! I'll never be without a supply. A staple household product esp if u have pets.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: While shopping for an odor neutralizer, I was hoping to find a review made by a non-pet owner but did not notice one. So for those of us who do not have pets in the house, I hope this review will be helpful. Thinking pet smell would sun out of a rug as well as smoke smell does, I purchased a used wool Persian rug from a pet owner. I was wrong about the sunning part. We sunned the rug multiple times and hand scrubbed it. No luck with smell removal. So I purchased this X-O Odor Neutralizer hoping it would do the trick. We sprayed it down heavily on both sides in the evening and let it sit all night. In the morning, we poured solution on the back and then made two passes with a rental carpet cleaner including more neutralizer and carpet soap. Repeated on the front side. We pretty much flooded this thing. Then we sucked it all up with a dry machine. The rug has been sunning outside for the rest of the day, but I'm not sensing that the neutralizer worked. I can still smell the pet odor, even while the rug is outside in the wide open fresh air and sun. As far as the scent goes, though, we did find it quite pleasant. It is kind of orangey and not extremely strong. I would recommend using it to odorize other things, maybe, but it really didn't seem to diminish pet odor on a rug. Also, it did no damage at all to the rug and didn't irritate our skin in any way. ***HAPPY UPDATE: Apparently, the drying process is a vital part of the smell removal! STICK it out until your rug has dried in order to know if the neutralizer worked or not. Now that the rug is dry, I can put my nose right on the rug and do not smell any pet pee! This stuff definitely seems to have worked. And now, I am amazed!
