Helps With Disorentation
This is a cool little gadget to have. I struggle with directional disorientation, and this helps IMMENSELY! Sometimes, I just walk around my house, around my neighborhood, or ride with it in the car, and study the direction on the compass. A handy item for adults and children alike (keep it in your car, so you don't get lost)!

This will work.
Bought this to replace another old Silva (similar design) from which the liquid had long since evaporated. I'm sure this is just as good. Eventually I will buy a compass that will outlive me. Hope this isn't the one.... Still, it's what I wanted and what I chose. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Good usable compass
We promised our grandsons some activities in map reading and navigation. I hope they have as much fun with the activities as we are having designing them. This compass is nicely made and not a cheap plastic toy. In an age when everyone has a G P S, I still think the kids should learn to read maps. This knowledge has been invaluable in our out of country travels!

Excellent compass at a decent price
Gifted the compass to my 12 year old nephew and he loved it. Lugged it around the mountains for a week and I made sure to show him how to use it. I would suggest a short, easy to read, easy to understand guide be provided as youngsters may not have the benefit of a retired, old fart Boy Scout being around to explain on how to use the compass.

Junk, trash don't buy
Junk that's why I sent it back and you sent another? A compass shouldn't move with my finger I move my hand and compass follows,JUNK North is north even in China!!!!!

Poor Construction
Needle not very sensitive. Twist the compass and it will take awhile for the needle to move and you have to specially careful that the compass is level.
