Beautiful finish, nearly impossible to screw up!
Almost impossible to screw up, just make sure your surface is clean. I didn’t use the Rubio wood cleaner beforehand (budget…), but used acetone as an alternative to clean the surface ahead of time as they suggest. Once I was sure there was no dust (swipe with a black nitrile glove), I went to town. Used this for a walnut veneer media cabinet with curly maple overlays. My first solo built cabinet and I’m thrilled with the result. Such a time saver too, no scuffing and recoating over and over. Not sure I’d use this finish on a coffee or dining table, but for this low-traffic/use peice it’s perfect. One coat. Some people swear by two coats for walnut, but it was too shiny for my liking in a test piece. Also, as others note, the stuff smells friggin amazing.

Red Oak Mantel, Sanded, Stained, and where mounted has the Oil Finish Applied
Just like most everyone else has said, this product was great! Went on so easy with a rag and I followed with a white scrub pad. Perfect finish with a matt sheen and very even. I pre stained with intense black and followed the instructions exactly, including using the recommended wood cleaner step. It does have an odor, although not terrible, but it has lasted a week already so just be aware the finished product will need time for it to dissipate. I was nervous to take on the project as a complete novice, but it came out great and i saved big $$$ compared to estimates I received from pros. My fireplace mantel came out great and I get so many compliments, I may have to do more woodworking now!!

Rubio is the best, versatile finish
I’ll always be a Rubio fan. It’s easy to apply, forgiving, and durable. While it’s expensive, it goes a long way due to the single application. I do like using a scraper for this but have also used towels and rags to apply it, which works well too. Over time, the cap to Part B can get sticky, so I’d recommend cleaning the threads on that after each use.

Rubio Monocoat on Counters
We used Rubio Monocoat Oil plus 2c (pure) on our Acacia Wood Butcher Block kitchen counters. It was the natural look I wanted without the sheen and plastic look you get from polys. It was easy to apply and the product went far! It took about half a 350ml kitchen to cover over 32' of counters. We only applied one coat. First few pics show before and after. We were pretty careful about not letting spills on it for long. A year later we had just 2 marks (also pictured). We lightly sanded them down and applied another coat, again supper easy. Last Pic is a year later with the second coat. Marks sanded out and are gone. We love our counters and recommend this product! Smell is actually pleasant as well!

Excellent Product, with a minor caveat...
Excellent finish. Food safe and fairly durable. Easy to apply and buff. I left the countertop un-touched for 1 week. Liquid beads right up. No grain raising. I used it on a teak butcher block style countertop. The "pure" brought out the color I was looking for. Only 2 complaints (hence the 4 stars), one was the instructions were way too small. Had to use my phone as a magnifier...ugh. A link to a PDF would fix that. The other was that no whee in the instructions does it say not to pour the part B into the part A can. Here in the states, its customary to always mix 2 part mixes in the larger can. DON'T DO IT! So that was an issue. I was able to salvage enough for my project. It reminds me of what we called "hardening oil" back in the day ('60s) that we would mix up. Not food safe chemicals though...lol Other than those two minor issues, I'll be using this from now on as needed. Highly recommend. Remember, this is a "treatment" to protect the wood from liquid and stains. It is NOT a "finish" (like a poly) that puts a protective layer on top of the wood.

WAY better than Polyurethane and No Fumes
I’m a novice woodworker at best, working out of an attached garage that doubles as my shop. Anytime I used stain or oil-based polyurethane, my family would immediately start complaining—the fumes always found their way into the house. This time, I decided to try Rubio Monocoat for the first time on a 9-foot desk I built for my office. I applied two coats, and let me tell you—virtually no smell. Maybe a light scent in the immediate area, but it was more like carnauba wax than chemicals. Most importantly, no complaints from the family. Application was super simple. I just used my DeWalt orbital sander to buff it into the surface, and it turned out great. I love how you can still feel the wood grain—that’s something you just don’t get with polyurethane, which basically covers your project in plastic. The look was amazing too. I went with "Pure," and it did not disappoint. The finish came out pretty natural but with a slightly wet look. See for yourself. The only real downside? The wait. You’ve got to let it cure for about a week before using the piece, and that was easily the hardest part. If I have any issues with this finish I'll come back to report but so far it's been a few weeks and I LOVE it.

Made my project look amazing.
Worked great! I wanted something for my coffee bar top that I built and this was perfect. A small amount goes a long way so I probably wasted some. If you have a project, start with a small amount and then go from there.

Great product
I would highly recommend this item. I have been doing many of the improvements and renovations in my home since I bought it a few years ago in the kitchen has been an ongoing project. We ended up doing butcher block countertops because of cost and ease of installation. We left them unprotected for a while and definitely encountered food and water stains but with a light sanding it was back to normal. We wanted lasting protection though and I came across this product that seemed like the best solution over any alternatives. I bought it and it sat around for a long time before I finally got around to applying it today. I have learned a lot up until then and have learned things that I did incorrectly and cannot change but I hope that this product still holds up well. What I didn’t do: apply the product to every side of the butcher block. (I installed the countertops before I realize this) I know it is highly recommended to apply to all sides of your project or there is a chance of warping but I am hoping that we do not have this issue. Besides that, I love the color. I used the color pure just to enhance the color and grain of the butcher block. The first picture is the before and the second picture is the after. I watched numerous videos before applying it to ensure that I use the correct technique and then followed along with a video while I was applying it and it overall went pretty well. I did have to have my husband help me and besides a small spill (lol) we got it applied quickly and now will wait for it to fully cure!
