This is a very cool and fancy beaded jump rope that comes with several marshmallow handles in different colors. Now, back in my day, we played with a long, heavy hemp rope, and we would've been thrilled to have this beaded jump rope instead. I'm going to get my neighbors' children to play with me and teach them something to do that doesn't require a computer or any type of screen. This looks as if it would cost three times what it actually does cost, and it's a very well made jump rope. I'd recommend this highly to anyone who wants to jump rope for exercise or get their kids outside to play like we did as children.

Our teen who wanted a jump rope found the beads a problem. If a foot lands on them, they really hurt, since she likes to jump barefoot. I would imagine with shoes they could crack. Anyway we removed the beads and the rope itself is now usable. But there are better ones out there.

Got this for my daughter's birthday. She's 7 and she loves you can change the colors on the handles. You will have to adjust the length of the rope for kids though. It's very easy but make sure to keep track of all the beads that you take off. There is a little plastic piece that prevents the rope from sliding out. Once you get it off you can remove the beads till you get a good length for you child. I just tied another knot verses trying to put on the little hook stopper. I've seen her a time or two jumping on the trampoline with it and it's so cute.

Out of the package, this rope was a good length for me (5'3" tall). I don't know what height would be the maximum for a person for it to be comfortable, but it seems fine for average heights. I will be giving it to my daughter, and it can be shortened in a way that you preserve the extra length in the hollow handle so you can let it out again later. You don't have to tie a knot in the extra rope at the handle, there's a little slider and rubber ring that keeps it at the length you like. It is a good weight and doesn't tangle or twist up when jumping. It comes with extra rubbery parts for the handle that are easily changed out so you can customize for your favorite colors, or when the original ones get grimy or scuffed up, change them out.

So, it says for kids but it's great for adults also! I just got an exercise hula hoop for Christmas so decided to try jumping rope also for exercise. This rope is good for someone like me that wants to get in better shape, but is not committed enough to spend a lot of money on equipment. This beaded rope is heavy enough to make jumping easier, but not too heavy. It is super easy to adjust the size also, and you get extra handle cushions to change colors or if they wear out. This jump rope is a great value and lots of fun!

I haven't jumped rope in years. I wasn't sure I still could, but in the absence of my 8 year old assistant to do my test jumping for me, I decided to give it a try. The beads (acting as weights on the rope) really helped. The handles were very comfortable and the rope swung easily from them. Any jumping failure was purely operator error and not the fault of the rope. The ability to change handle colors is a bonus and will appeal to younger jumpers. This rope looks to be very well made and should last a long time. In fact, that is another advantage of the beads on the rope - they will take the wear from hitting the pavement instead of the rope. I also like that the rope is adjustable!

I ordered this for my 4 year old to learn how to use a jumpy rope. It came very long,, but it is adjustable which surprised me! Untwist the handle, remove the beads, pull the rope to the length you need, and then put the handle back on. Easy! The booklet that came along with it said that you can cut the rope shorter after adjusting but I did not want to do that soI just folded the extra length of the rope before threading it back into the handle. My son likes it, now I need to help him get the technique down!

Despite the fact my 7 year old currently lacks the coordination to jump rope, this is a pretty decent design. My daughter loved the fact she can change the colors on the handles, and I really like the fact I can change the length of the rope itself. It takes a bit of sorting, but its possible. You have to unscrew the caps, let the handle slide down the rope, remove this white piece that has "teeth" to hold it in place, remove the brown caps & black rubber band, then you can remove the plastic beads off the rope. Once I did all that and put it back together, I just folded the excess rope into the handle, so when she grows taller, I can extend it back out.
