Excellent product! My father-in-law was about to use post hole diggers to transplant some new grass coming up. I asked him if he had ever used a “plugger”? No, so I ordered one for him and it arrived same day thanks to Amazon. This model is called a bulb transplanter but will work on lawns as well. Assembly was easy and the handle has foam grips for comfort. Very sturdy construction out of mild steel. He immediately went to work plugging and moving healthy grass to areas where the ground was bare. Press the bottom into the ground, twist remove the plug. Place your foot on the ejection lever and the plug falls out. Repeat the process where you want to establish new grass, insert the plug and take the bare plug back to the original hole to prevent needless empty holes. Works very well.

I had a few worn spots in my lawn from mowing around trees and needed an easy way to transplant healthy grass from other areas. After a rainfall, when the soil was moist, I used this tool and it performed very well. It is solidly built and makes extracting grass plugs straightforward with a bit of twisting and downward pressure. The plugs came out clean, which made it simple to fill in the bare areas. I am very pleased with the results. This turned out to be an effective and practical solution for my lawn repair.

Works great. Only complaint is i wish it had foot posts on both sides instead of only one side.

This is an AMAZING product that works EXACTLY as described! It’s easy to assemble and use. Saved a lot of back breaking work removing unwanted invasive garlic chive bulbs and roots.

The Colwelt Bulb Planter has been a life saver for me when it came to planting all my tomato and pepper plants. No more bending down and getting on my knees to plant.

Used this for planting bulbs and it worked well. Soil needs to be the type that's held together well, which mine is. I also used it to thin and transplant some bee balm earlier this spring.

The bulb planter is easy to assemble and comes with tools to do so and a pair of gloves to boot! I am a slight built older gardener and found that I wasn’t able to sink the tool into the ground by stepping on the single flange it is equipped with. However, I used arm strength and found by twisting and turning was able to lift enough soil to plant the bulbs. It would probably have been more effective if it had two flanges to step on. But, I now have 50 narcissuses planted and am looking forward to spring!

Got this to help with planting all my fall bulbs. Was way better than digging the holes by hand. It was easy to set up and worked well. Wouldn't want to use it on super compact soil but we'll drained soil was effortless.

Great product works well easy to use and put together. Would buy again if needed but it’s so well put together I don’t think I’ll ever need another.

Have used it a lot and it is a big help to us old geezers. Less back ache

Used on grass. Not very sharp so you have to use lots of force. Foot lever broke very quickly. Does work if ground is very soft.
