Fantastic as always!
D'Amato always does amazing work, but this is almost excessive. This is a very cool gaming tool! Whether you're filling out a character's background or chatting with other pcs around, well, a campfire, this deck provides in depth questions that definitely scratch that itch you're (probably) looking for. There's a nice heft to it that's immediately noticeable and each card is printed on top of the line card stock, making it easy to shuffle the deck so you can use it again and again with the knowledge that it'll definitely be different every time you want it to be.There's different categories of questions - Your Past, Your Present, Your Companions, Your Dreams, Your World, and Hypotheticals - so you can make sure the conversations focus on whatever you're hoping for. Personally, I like mixing them all up and just relying on the luck of the draw.Especially nice is the inclusion of the X-Card to ensure the conversation never strays into uncomfortable territory in a way that can easily be incorporated in any future gaming endeavors.Overall, this is a truly inspiring way to deepen the relationships between characters and their place in the world, and provide a way of further cementing their personalities and opinions.10/10 A+++ Would buy again!

Get to know your characters (and yourself)
I've been writing for the past year and was recently hitting a wall with my character development. After getting this box of cards I find that is no longer the case. I really dove into this box of cards and started finding out more about my characters. I also have a D&D group that I meet with occasionally to play an ongoing adventure with and we used it there as well.Topics to discuss:Your PastYour PresentYour Dreams (Future)The World Around YouYour CompanionsHypotheticalAll these topics generate new ways to think about your characters. I even asked one of my friends a few questions about his character just to see if he had thought about it ever before. We found the questions to be engaging and thought provoking.I can't wait to ask the rest of the group some more questions; these were a great tool to add to our adventure and allow us to get to know one another even more. Who would have thought a fictional character could have so much depth!?

So much fun for tabletop RPGs
I have used these for a variety of tabletop RPG sessions such as D&D 5e, Blades in the Dark, and Cosmere RPG. I usually pull them out when the game pace slows down such as during a rest. My players have loved using these and really enjoy the aspect of getting into character. As the DM I will often play a PC in the party whom they ask a question. It's a lot of fun to explore the character you are playing as outside of the scenes set in an adventure. I highly recommend getting a deck for your table. The cards are durable because they are thick, strong, and appear to have some sort of coating. I imagine they will last me a long time. I'm so glad I purchased these.

DnD Night just got better
This deck is a sweet idea and really allows your characters to bond and get to know each other better through the course of the campaign. My party likes to start each session with a round from this deck and it works great to keep us more engaged with our characters. This was a gift to my DM which I directly benefit from and he loved it!

Clever product that is helpful in game and out
The Reasonable Reviewer family loves the question cards genre. We have many sets of questions for family, friends, and partners. When I saw that Simon & Schuster was offering a set for role-playing, I jumped at the chance to order it.It is regular deck of question cards. You get 155 of them in six categories: your past, your present, your companions, your dreams, your world, and hypotheticals. If you have ever been the game-master for a role-playing group, you know that one of the challenges is bringing in a new player character in a natural way. These questions are a great way to break the ice in-game. It helps all the players to get to know the motivations, feelings, and backgrounds for the characters.Mostly though, it is fun.The Reasonable Reviewer family is also using this set to have real-world question sessions too.I highly recommend this question card set.

High quality, lots of fun and very useful.
James has created a really fantastic series of must-have TTRPG supplements with his book series, and he's knocked it out of the park with this one again. There are six categories to choose cards from, and each category will unlock some really interesting details for your characters. You can use this outside of your game sessions, during your session zeros, or give your characters a pack of these cards in the game and do some ice breakers in character around an in game campfire. The physical quality of the cards is phenomenal, too. They aren't as flimsy as playing cards, they are easy to work with and shuffle. The cards are well presented and the questions are all thought provoking. If you want to know more about the cards, it was covered on the Character Creation Cast podcast recently. You can check that out to hear about them directly from James and hear them in action, even!

So inspiring
This deck just arrived today and I am absolutely obsessed with it. The questions are unique and inspired, they range from funny and entertaining to deeply thought provoking. Not only are they giving me a ton of insight into my own D&D characters, they’re giving me a ton of ideas for how they can be used in the campaign itself. These are guaranteed to foster some excellent RP, help flesh out characters, bring new or shy players deeper into the dialogue, and in general just be a whole lot of fun. 50/5, best thing I’ve bought in ages.
