The sound quality is clear, and the Bluetooth connection works perfectly with my headphones. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and the touchscreen is smooth and responsive. I like that it has WiFi too — it makes downloading music and apps super convenient. Perfect for work, working out, traveling, or just relaxing. Definitely worth it! Review: Solid unit but has flaws - I had tried the Pecsu PS5 MP3 unit and that had issues, it seems this has all the same issues just a smaller battery and Google Play now available through the OS which is still limited to the 2018 version of 8.1 This unit is heavy and even heavier than my Samsung S10E which I use as a media player. This unit besides being heavier is just about 1/4 shorter than the S10e. But the S10e runs on android 12 and does more. Plus the battery on this G5 is less than their PS5 unit, why? The G5 has really no output power, it can barely push a 16ohm set of headphones. The entire OS lags and studders and the screen sensitivity is not much to better with a low resolution. Now having access to Google Play will allow you to download your Fav apps, for those apps that still allow to be used with android 8.1. Some of the apps I was looking to use are not available to download because of this. I can not speak on how the bluetooth works, as I decided to return this 5 minutes after it booted up. There are better MP3 players that use android 8.1 that have better sound, screen and less lag, with a 4 inch screen. This unit is just too big and heavy, for a portable MP3 player.

BATTERY LIFE NOT GREAT / YOU CAN ACCESS GOOGLE PLAYSTORE
UPDATE 8-10-23 I have forgotten my password to get into one of these because I bought 4 of them for different people at the same time and I still have all but one, they are all switched around now and I should have recorded what passwords that I had used but I am unable to find the list. I am trying to figure out how to reset but the address they give us for help does not respond. [email protected] UPDATE 3-14-23 I bought 4 of these players for people for Christmas. I have been working since Nov to get SD cards and music for them . I have only used them a handful of times. I just went to power one and it is totally dead. I have tried a couple cords so it is not that. I am trying to contact the MFR by mail and will update with what happens. The battery seems to drain easily, with only maybe 5 hours playtime. There are other models out there, that have wifi but you cannot access the Google playstore, so you are stuck with whatever aps they give you and you cannot get app updates. Pay attention carefully to the specs when shopping. Also, the case that Amazon is recommending as a bundle purchase will not fit this model, which is the Pecsu G5. The case that I found that fits perfect is a USA GEAR, you can choose from colors but make sure outer dims are at least 6.25 x 4.38 x 1.38 inches, because that is what I have and it fits perfectly!! They have different colors you can pick from https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0756V5NR4/?coliid=I1GHZ0HU9IMVS&colid=3K143M5LMWASZ&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

Remarkable media player
This media player looks great right out of the box. After a short setup, I loaded my library of music and videos on it. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. Bright and sharp with bright colors. Viewing angles were also splendid. I know a few people have claimed otherwise. Maybe they didn't know how to adjust it. On my unit it's beautiful. The unit is very fast and responsive. I downloaded all my favorite apps from the Play Store. It sounds great through headphones or Bluetooth, and the videos are stunning. This will solve a lot of problems for me. I want one Central unit to use for media. I don't want to tie up my phone. This unit fills the bill splendidly. Highly recommended.

Good so far…
This seems to be good so far, but my kid has noticed that the battery does get eaten up quickly. Also, is there not a protective case (like an OtterBox) that can be purchased to protect it?

One step forward, two steps back for PECSU
In theory, the PECSU G5 is an upgraded MP3 player vs. the initial PECSU MP3 player released, the P5S. In some ways it is but in too many ways the G5 has taken multiple steps back. The biggest benefit of the G5 over the P5S is the addition of the Google Play store which allows the user to download, install and update apps on the G5 while being confident in the authenticity and security of the apps being used on this player. Being "Google Play compatible" is a major plus with this unit over the P5S. The P5S requires the user to search out app install files on their own (called APK files), hope that those APK files don’t contain malware or security flaws and deal with the updates for those apps on their own. Making G5 Google Play compatible allows the user to easily obtain and update apps eliminating the those issues found on the P5S. Before getting into the issues it should be noted that there is a marketing spec error listed on the G5's Amazon page: the stated dimensions indicate that the G5 is 0.25” thick making the G5 half the thickness of the P5S as well as many other similar units (Unalace, Louran, etc). This is untrue. The G5 is identical in thickness to the P5S (almost 0.5”) and the marketing specs on its dimensions should be corrected. I was really hoping that when PECSU decided to develop a whole new MP3 player model that they also created one that was more compact/thinner/lighter vs the older unit. Unfortunately this was not the case. First lets discuss what hasn't changed and should have with this new unit, namely the OS version. Similar to the P5S, the G5 is still using a very outdated (4+ year), truncated version of Android OS (Android 8.1) in which even the security patch associated with the OS is over 4.5 years old. This means that newer apps on the Google Play store may not be compatible since Android is now up to version 13. It also means that there is a signifcant security flaw with this OS since the security patch associated with it is so outdated. Moreover, there still is no path to upgrade the OS for the user and I seriously doubt if PECSU has any intention of providing software upgrades to this unit like one would see with typical Android phones/tablets. Now for the steps back, which unfortunately are several. Rather than PECSU re-releasing the P5S and making their new variant Google Play compatible (which in my eyes would have been fine since the P5S was well received), PECSU decided to release an entirely new MP3 Player model. This allowed them to add/remove some design aspects to the G5. A minor design subtraction noted with the G5 that was present on the P5S was the removal of the double headphone ports. The G5 only has one 3.5mm headphone port. Personally, I never saw the benefit of having two headphone ports on a personal MP3 player so in my eyes I wasn't overly concerned about PECSU deciding to bail on this design choice with the G5. A major addition found in the G5 is the incorporation of a quick activating "recording button.” This button does work (holding it for three seconds will cause the immediate startup of the voice recorder app no matter what app you are using). So, the execution with the recording button works fine, but the hardware associated with recording and playback (namely the mic and the speaker) in the G5 is seriously lacking. The sound generated from the speaker on the G5 is very tinny, lacks clarity and is pretty low in volume. You would think that PECSU would have upgraded the speaker on the G5 for individuals that want to immediately listen to any voice recordings they've generated since adding the abililty for immediate voice recording was a significant G5 design addition. Of more importance is the mic. The mic on my unit was actually worse than what it was on the P5S. The clarity of the recorded voice was terrible, and the sensitivity of the mic was very low (meaning that whatever you record needs to be sufficiently loud or very near the G5’s mic). I’m not sure why PECSU decided to add this "recording button" feature to the G5 as one would rarely need/use it if using this device for its main intent (i.e. as a media player). Furthermore, any individual needing to perform voice recordings would likely just use their phone since even mid-level phones have significantly better speakers and mics vs. what is present on the G5. Unfortunately, PECSU did downgrade several hardware components in the G5 compared to the P5S. One of which was the battery. The battery was downgraded from 2,500mAh to 2,000mAh. Generally newer models increase rather than decrease battery capacity so doing so was a misstep in my opinion by PECSU. Also, the USB-C port on the G5 is unable to provide a charge more the 750mA which necessitates longer charging time vs. more modern phones/tablets that incorporate a USB-C port. Marketing for the G5 indicates a 2-hour "fast" charging time is necessary to completely recharge the G5 which is pretty long considering it only has a 2,000mAh battery. This is because PECSU decided to put a very cheap version of a USB-C port on this unit. I will also mention that the G5's USB-C port will not properly recognize/communicate with a PD charger and take no charge from it in case you were interested in using that kind of charger for powering up the G5. Finally, PECSU seems to have significantly downgraded the display screen compared to what is present on the P5S. The P5S has an IPS screen. Marketing for the G5 indicates that it too is using a IPS screen though it behaves more like a TN screen with incredible low viewing angles, significant color shifting and low lumen output. The quality of the screen becomes very apparant when trying to watch a video. When I installed Netflix on the G5 and attempted to watch a movie the experience was very jarring and unpleasant. Since PECSU is advertising this unit as a media player rather than just a MP3 player the quality of the screen is an important element of the player which they failed to maintain and/or upgrade when comparing it to the P5S and/or other units sold on Amazon which are direct competitors. So in conclusion I think PECSU made some mis-steps in some of the design choices for the G5. After testing the G5 player, I actually prefer the earlier PECSU model, the P5S, over this new PECSU model. The P5S has a larger battery and has a much better display associated with it. Although the PS5 is not Google Play compatible it is compatible with almost all the apps I tried to install on it (though I needed to be very careful with where I obtained the APK files for those apps). There is also a new Google Play compatible Android OS MP3 Player made by Unalace now sold on Amazon that should be considered PESCU’s direct competitor. The Unalace MP3 Player uses a much more recent version of Android (Android 10) and includes a 2022 security patch, has much better quality IPS display with significantly higher resolution display (720P vs. WVGA on the G5), a much better quality speaker and a significantly larger battery (3,000mAh vs 2,000mAh) and cost less money. Its downsides are that is using a less advanced SoC (quad-core vs. octo-core), has one less GB of RAM (2GB vs. 3GB) and it doesn’t have a SD card reader built-in to significantly increase the storage compacity of the MP3 Player. However, the Unalace MP3 Player is responsive enough to act fine as a MP3 Player/media player which is its primary intent.
