Great Socks for Hiking
These are great socks, very warm and comfortable. I wear them with hiking boots and they are good for all day long wear. Also, 80% wool means moisture control is well handled, which adds considerably to the comfort. Great price too - 3 pair for less than the price of one pair of similar type socks and are at the very least as comfortable and warm.

A good alternative.
I suppose it's the modern online way but every time I find a comfortable sock brand they seem to become rapidly unavailable. Thick merino wool socks are my preferred choice, for work (outdoors) & everyday wear, across all seasons. In my opinion Kingland were the best, so obviously they're no longer easy to find in the Medium size. I then tried the D G Hill equivalent which were approaching the same standard, if a little less finessed. Next time I tried to buy those, what do you know - ''Not currently available''. It's a conspiracy! Then the next ones that come up are these Vihir 80% merino wool crew socks. Worth a try I thought & more or less a comparable price to the previous brands. My first impression on trying them on was that the toe seam seemed a little bulky & threatened to cause irritation to the toes, but having washed them for a first time this appears not to be a problem, even if it does sit further towards the end of the foot. They fit pretty well & I expect they'll tighten up with further washes. They seem warm but I'm not totally convinced by the 80% wool claim, I suspect that there may be a higher synthetic fibre content in them than is shown as they tend to feel sweatier than the other brands. However, I'm pretty pleased with them & will probably buy them again as they're warm, soft & comfortable, and at the moment, available.

Woollen socks
Absolutely brilliant very warm and comfortable. No odour at all and can be washed on a regular cycle without shrinking. Bought some more and will buy again in the future.

Alternative to Red Wing Merino sock
I'm a big fan of the Red Wing merino socks which, on paper, have a very similar wool content to these. But at £20 a pair, I can't really justify buying too many. So I'd thought I'd try these as an alternative. They're certainly not as good as the red wing socks. These ones feel a lot more synthetic despite having a very similar content mix, but having washed and worn them 5 or 6 times, they're holding up perfectly well. They're comfortable and warm and work well as an all-day boot sock. They offer great value for money.

Cosey socks, warm. However customer service is poor.
Good socks, keeps my feet warmer on the bike than other socks I own, which is where I use them most. Expensive for a somewhat lacklustre quality control. One of the socks had a hole in it when it arrived. When I contacted the suppliers, they refused to provide another socks. They offered a partial refund but did not follow up on this. Left unsatisfied. Edit: was refunded for the price of 1 pair - about 8 pounds. Edit 2: Have since bought another pair of these as they are definitely my favourite socks in my wardrobe. They last quite a while, a little over a year, before developing holes, usually around the ball of the foot which is where socks always get holes for me. My second pair came without any defects, I assume the first time was just a once off, and they did end up giving me a refund, so I am changing my rating to 5 stars. Would definitely recommend these, they're really cosy, and give a food amount of material around your feet, which you notice if you wear boots/cycling shoes.

Love These merino socks turned out to be fantastic. They keep my feet warm even on colder days, and they stay comfortable for long wear. I can use them for several days without any smell or feeling dirty, which makes them incredibly practical. I enjoy them a lot and fully recommend them. Worth every cent!
