Two new YS D2J strobes failed
I purchased new Sea & Sea YS D2J strobes in Sept 2019 and again in April 2020 from authorized dealers. After two dive trips, the flash tube blew on one strobe and the other strobe periodically turned off during the dive while diving in Fiji, Oct 2022. No flooding, no moisture. The strobes were in pristine condition. I contacted the authorized repair shop and they said that they have seen problems with the D2J strobe when using Eneloop Pro batteries (white Eneloop are recommended, they said). I had been using Duracell rechargeable batteries, then switched to Eneloop Pro batteries and the the problems began. Sea & Sea refused to repair the strobes (warranty expired) even though the strobes were used very little and many other divers have experienced the same problems. Sea and Sea has since replaced the D2J strobe with a newer model. However, Sea and Sea has failed to help customers who spent a lot of money on the flawed YS D2J strobes.

Died in 6 months
Died during my second dive trip in Indonesia with the strobe. I had owned it 6 months. It stopped working in the middle of a dive and I was so disappointed. It was the Japanese version. Sea and Sea replaced it but I dont have confidence in their product.
