Has anyone used this on a 7 year old as a form of sun protection? I can't use suncream on his face so I'm after the next best thing

No face cream will be strong enough for a child. Use suncream. This is good for general day use, especially winter. I would use proper suncream on myself when the sun is strong enough to burn.

Are these the original product which are slightly bigger pots than the current version in shops?

The original lots had much deeper false bottoms. (Perhaps Simple Co. is cutting down on use of hard plastic?) the amount of cream is the same , just pot design that is different. Olive Beaton
