Does this have to be laced into your belt or can you clip it on while wearing your belt?

What is the maximum weight this key ring belt holder can hold?

The maximum weight is unknown but the key ring itself is made of really sturdy steal. I currently have 14 keys + a key fob attached with room for many more keys. I feel it can hold pretty much whatever weight is applied. Matter of fact much, much more than the belt it's attached to can handle LOL Again my only complaint is that there's no opening where as you can clip it on to the belt. You have to slip the belt in through the loop hole.

Can clip it with a belt? Just fasten to the pants ?

The most convenient and secure way is to run your belt through the holder, then clip your keys on and off the holder. The less convenient and secure way is to leave your keys on the holder, then clip holder and keys on and off your pants belt loop.

Will it fit a thicker Galco type belt?

Yes, this key ring holder can fit the belt max 2.25in. It fits my Sam Brown Police Duty Belt which is 2 inches wide and thicker than most belts.
