Does the electric melting furnace crucible need to be glazed before use?

I always recommend slowly seasoning a crucible prior to your first use that is heating The Crucible up starting at 400° Fahrenheit let it sit for 10 minutes raise it to 800 degrees Fahrenheit let it sit for 10 minutes, 1200°F, then 1800, this helps season the crucible and it will last longer.

Is it possible to melt steel??

The Gold Melting Furnace description specifically says the maximum temperature is 2000°F. Not Celsius. You would not be able to melt steel as it does not melt until about 2750°F.

Mine is missing the crucible. My husband tried contacting them but hasn’t heard anything back. Replacement recommendations?
