MANIC PANIC Electric Amethyst Hair Color Amplified

Very nice and vibrant! True to the bottle color! I do use color conditioner but, it still lasts through tons of washings! Now I bought another color as well.

I have been bleaching and dyeing my own hair for roughly 23 years. There's been good times and there have been bad times, but I have used a ton of Manic Panic in every color over the years, and never had an issue like I did with Electric Amethyst (Amplified). My head had been bald so I left my hair grow a little bit, then bleached my virgin hair to a very pale yellow. Upon applying the dye, I noticed that when it got on my scalp (I have my hair at the top of my head, all around it shaved) and wiped it off, it left nothing behind. Like NOTHING. No hint of stain on my skin. I thought that was weird, but what I thought was even weirder was that as I put it on my hair I could see that it was looking like different colors. The front of my head is legit purple and the back is like a pale blue. Again, I understand bleaching and all of the hair was bleached to the same level and in the same exact shape. So, while it isn't embarrassing to walk around with, it does look like I didn't know what I was doing, when in fact, I think the dye formula has changed. The state of my hair doesn't have anything to with the fact that it didn't even stain my skin. I dunno - I love you, Manic Panic, I do. But, this was lame. I am disappoint.

I left it on for two hours. Not only did it not hold onto my hair well, but the "Electric Amethyst" came out looking bright blue.

It came out a blue/purple but within just a couple days it was a lot more blue than purple. Color did last a couple weeks (I re-dye every 2 weeks anyways) but became more obviously blue everyday. Easy to put in. It says to use for atleast 30 minutes but I always go 1-1 1/2 hours for better saturation. First couple days hair can feel pretty dry but goes back to normal quickly

i paid $18.99 for the same amount of dye in the $14 tubs. i thought this was the 8oz bottles. which is my fault for not looking closer, but i’ve only seen the bottles in 8oz for manic panic, not 4oz so i didn’t even think to look. 🤦🏻‍♀️ still an amazing product & i love manic panic but just mad that i spent more money for basically no reason. EDIT TO ADD : actually put this on my head today & it somehow turned my hair blue. it was fully blonde before hand. i had bleached it 3 times, so it was very very blonde. this was a darker purple so i didn’t think it would be anything but purple. no, it is patchy blue. my full head was saturated, so i’m not sure what happened. the dye even rinsed out blue. i have always used manic panic and never had an issue. so i am not sure what went wrong..

color doesn't work as great as other tones of the brand that are vibrant and durable.

hi! i bleached my whole head (final photo is bleached, pre-dye) a split dye of manic panic’s AMPLIFIED “electric amethyst” (this product) and “electric lizard” electric amethyst is actually horrible compared to electric lizard- i’ve used manic panic a couple times before, and any issues could’ve been put on my own inexperience, but this dye lasted 3 days. I don’t even know if it lasted to my first wash, somehow. Most of my problems with this dye I’ve been able to pass off in public with the “semi-permanent” excuse, but the electric lizard BARELY started fading after the 3rd wash, and electric amethyst hasn’t been purple since the day i dyed it. And even then, it was way more faded & splotchy than its other side, even though I used 1 4-oz bottle on each side. other reviewers say this might be a new formula used, but i’ve never used this color before and it’s just disappointing. still love manic panic, there’s not many semi-permanent coloring brands that are also cruelty-free, but this color & staining could be wayy better 😭😭 i don’t have an alternative just yet, and still have another 4-oz bottle left that i’ll be re-dying my hair with once the color’s fully faded, but if your not ready to have splotchy blue instead of vibrant purple, i’d go with another color/brand.

Way too small amount for the money.

I've been using vibrant dyes for many years and thought I'd give this one a try. I've used the regular Manic Panic before to good results. This is truly awful - it's advertised as a purple but gave my hair a terrible pale blue-grey colour. Truly atrocious! I'm very upset as not only was the colour wrong but the payoff was awful too. Definitely do not recommend
