Amazing!
I have been using this for a few years now. I have naturally very dark hair and a dark ash blonde balayage. I tend not to use this as regular shampoo as I prefer other shampoos to wash my hair, as it is quite drying, but I do use it as a type of shampoo mask. When my colour starts to go brassy, I pop this on dry or damp hair and leave to marinate for around 30 mins, then give it a good wash with regular shampoo a few times and my hair comes out a lovely ashy colour with no brass. I have in the very recent past made the mistake of leaving this on for 3 hours and my hair went blue, but after around 15 washes 😳 it was a vibrant ash blonde colour again, so do be careful if you try this technique. Also, a few years ago I got my hair highlighted a much lighter blonde and the hairdresser unfortunately missed a chunk of hair along my hairline at my widows peak which was very noticeable when I had my hair tied back. I didn't have time to go back to the salon as I was going on holiday the next day, but I did have some hair bleach in the house, but no toner. I used this blue shampoo as the toner on dry hair, leaving it on for an hour, and you would never have known!

Deep blue
I purchased this with the aim of counteracting very warm tones left in my hair by a "professional hairdresser". My hair was ash blonde with lowlights and I wanted it to be more ash brown with highlights so the hairdresser decided to throw 5.1 and 6.1 lowlights on the top of my hair coupled with all over 5.1 on the roots, ends and back. Needless to say it turned a horrific poo brown which I hated, so she then added all over bleach highlights, took the bleach off too soon and hey presto, produced orange hair! As my hair was ash blonde I already owned the Fanola purple shampoo so thought this one might help me with the warm tones. To be fair it did a reasonable job and is very pigmented. I still have very warm hair but will keep on using this to coat the hair with blue so eventually it will cool off. I'm totally astounded how many reviews talk about botched colour from so called professionals. In essence, it shouldn't be a thing to have to fix your own hair after paying hundreds of pounds to have it coloured but thankfully, products like this exist to help those of us exposed to incompetence. Don't expect miracles but it's good enough to try if your hair has unwanted copper/orange tones.

Great for bringing back the darker hair colour
Great blue shampoo for people with dyed hair which is going more copper and orange than staying as it was. I found that the shampoo brought my hair colour back to its darker tones. I use it about once a week and that seems fine.

Holy Fanola!
Bit of back story- I have used henna for about 12 years over what was once strawberry blonde hair. I'm now an ash blonde with a scattering of white hairs and I was ready to try and grow out natural, before I grey more and it gets harder. First off, I started gradually lightening the bulk of the darker, almost maroon hair with spray in lightener (go super careful with this). I would spritz damp hair with it, wrap in a plastic cap and leave for a couple of hours before rinsing and conditioning. I did this once a week for around four weeks. I also did a couple of VERY STRONG citric acid rinses in between. Eventually, I felt I couldn't strip the colour any more without incurring severe damage, so I decided it was time to tone. I was left with ashy roots, followed by a yellowish band, followed by the orange (the majority of the bum-length hair). Firstly I washed my hair with shampoo, towel dried and then slathered on the Fanola, foaming it through. I left it on for 20 mins and rinsed. I could see the flaming orange had subsided, but not enough. I dried my hair completely, and then applied fanola again. This time I DID NOT lather, but painted it on thick, as though it were hair dye. I left this on for another 20 mins before rinsing and using a very, very heavy deep conditioner. The end result is very good and I am amazed. It has blended my multiple bands of colours beautifully. Caution- this stuff is pretty drying. I've damp-oiled my hair, slathered on leave in conditioner and braided it all up. I'll leave this hairstyle in for at least a week to give the hair a rest. I'm thinking that this stuff does a little more than just depositing a blue pigment; I suspect it also strips some colour, much like a clarifying shampoo or citric acid.

Didn't work for me
I had high hopes after trying out several different purple shampoos, but my hair is still quite brassy so didn't really work on mine. It also really dries my hair. I've applied plenty on dry hair as per in previous reviews.

Ich bin absolut begeistert vom Fanola No Orange Shampoo.
