Highly recommend
I have wanted artist grade pencils for a long time. I had a small set of 12 of s other brand not the same as these, but had in mind one of two choices, these or prismacolour. I read reviews on amazon and on artists websites gleaning knowledge on each. After some time it became obvious to me that prismascoliyr was the way to go. When I received the package I hoped they arrived intact, and wasn't disappointed. The pencils are set out in groups of 10 in one row of three in two tiers, 60 pencils in total. I had hoped they'd be in colour wheel order but they weren't, that wasn't an issue I merely changed them to how I wanted them ordered. They were all nicely pointed and had the names etched clearly on the barrel of each pencil, with good range of each colour. I was impressed with how vivid the colours were and how well they blended with each other. These are oil not wax pencils and so I wasn't sure how they'd react. I had bought a blending pencil from a different make, but for initial colouring they worked well together blending with each other in the family colour groups. I tried with blending those from different colour groups and was happy with how they blended too. The nibs are sturdy and strong, not brittle at all so took a good session of colouring, with only one tip breaking a tiny piece off. This I feel was more down to that that pencil was slightly too pointed to a too fine tip but the breakage was minimal and didnt affect my use of it as was still a nice sharp point. None I used broke, all appear to be made with high quality in mind. All the wood looks clean and new duty no dry or cracked wood, no gaps, no imperfections. The colours are vivid and true. With such a decent range of each colour, it's possible to colour match with most things you will wish to draw and colour. Those that you don't have, will be easy to mix and blend from those in the palette. Highly recommend.

Superb pencils which may just improve your art
As a relative novice to coloured pencils, these were a considered and relatively expensive purchase - there are a lot of options out there, at varying price points, and a lot of opinions too. Having used relatively cheap pencils before, I must say these pencils are a delight to use. Not only do they look good and feel good in the hand, they perform better than I could have ever hoped for. The colour range in this set 60 is about perfect - I did subsequently buy the ivory, sky blue and cinnamon (or light flesh) pencils to augment the range a little, but I don't think I'll need any more. The way the colours lay down on the paper is fantastic - you can go from delicate application to intense colour very easily without ever feeling that you're going to rip through the paper. And the vibrancy and intensity of the colours are absolutely superb. Blending and layering with these pencils is so easy. The colours just melt into each other. Burnishing is simple too - they react well to application of a white or burnishing pencil and solvent. I really can't fault these pencils. If, like me, you've spent an inordinate amount of time reading reviews and debating which pencils to buy, just buy these. You will not be disappointed.

Expensive but good
I treated myself to this 60 pencil tin as the price was discounted. They are hard and vibrant and excellent for layering and blending coloured pencil work. They sharpen well and are a very good make

Brilliant for colouring books
I've been through quite a few different brands in my quest to find the pencil for colouring books. All of those I tried were awful leaving nasty scratch marks in the paper and looked dull with washed out colour. This wasn't the case at all with these pencils. Colours are vivid and glide along the paper effortlessly. It's easy to layer colours and add more depth to your colouring and as a result the finished article is much improved. They are pretty pricey as far as pencils go but if you like colouring in for a hobby then these are the perfect tool. I wasn't sure whether to go for a smaller set due to the price but I bit the bullet and went for the set of 60. I'm so glad I did, if I could have afforded it I would have gone for the full set of 120. A lot of the colours may look the same but they are slightly different and this works a charm when layering colours and adding depth to pictures.

Wow!
Oh my goodness. Ive always used Kalour coloured pencils ive found to be the best bargain pencils but thought these are on sale lets go for it! Theres a huge difference lol even the colours on the page compared to my kalour coloured page ive done in a hanna karlzon colouring book u can see a big difference in quality the coloured actually look more expensive and i dont have to worry about what ive coloured fading over time with them being lightfast pencils. They are hard pencils but they barely need sharpening and they never break they keep a sharp point which made me realise they will last a really long time compared to the bargain once ive replaced a fee sets already but i bet these will last the year. Definatly qorse the mo ey now that i know this. They came sealed as well and wrapped up well so you know they havnt been touched since factory sealed. Its the only set i need as well for my colouring books. All the colours i need are there. The giant sets i find overwhelming and small sets never have enough shades. Ill just keep replacing this set. I dont like having lots of different pencils just one that does it all. I will buy again from here im so happy.

Love these colour pencils! Love the quality, how they can be sharpened easily, how they are great for details and how they don't smudge while I work with them (unlike another well known brand from US).

Faber-Castell Polychromos is a beautiful artist quality coloured pencil set. The down-side, they are a expensive; a full set of these is costly which is why I had to settle with a 60-pc set for now (but plan on upgrading again in the near future). This set has a wonderful range of colours, and these pencils are delightful to work with. I am currently in the search for the perfect coloured pencils and I have purchased the main brands along with their water soluble counter-part. All have their pros and cons; as expected, the pricier ones - usually artist grade pencils, are the better products with some exceptions, and the Polychromos are becoming my favourite. Although I still like the Prismacolor due to the range of colours available, its smooth application, and much lower price point (in Canada), the Polychromos are just as dynamic, smooth, with beautiful, vibrant pigments. Another plus and this sets it apart from the Prismacolors: these are durable due to a slightly thicker pencil. Their rich pigments blend and layer well, mixes well with other brands, leaves no wax bloom, and you are able to get a sharp edge with very minimal breakage- actually I've had ZERO lead breakages while sharpening these, unlike Prismacolor, and the Derwent Coloursoft's. The lightfastness of the pigments is outstanding and surpasses Prismacolor; 102 are rated *** (Excellent) , 16 are rated ** (Very Good) with only 2 out of the 120 are rated * (Good). If you are not on a budget and can afford these sets (I recommend the larger sets), these are highly recommended for artists of all ages and skillsets. The only colours where other brands gave the Polychromos a run for their money is the black and White. This is where I found the Prismacolor edged out the Polychromos slightly (although all take a back seat to the exquisitely Black and White Stabilo ALL). Still the Faber-Castell Polychromos is a high quality coloured pencil set; smooth laydown/application, vibrant, professional output, great durability, and a dynamic colour selection of 120 colours. These will enhance all of your coloured pencil art pieces. This handsome 60-pc set contains the pencils within 2 trays- stacked, inside a durable tin, and a small booklet is included. Love it. If price is not an issue fellow artists- get the 120-pc set. Do it!

Haven’t swatch yet. But been a long time user of polychromos. Aside from its in a discounted price, I just bought this because of the wood case. So aesthetically pleasing. And very sturdy. Hopefully, soon, I can be able to buy the 120 colors in same wood box case.
