So can we talk about the inside and mold potential? anyone cut one of these open?

They break apart and the instructions say to break them open ( pull them apart) after using so they can dry. So zero mold problems here!!

You can get the same effect with a straw in a glass of water. Insert straw, put finger over top, pull straw out and voila, water stays in the straw. I honestly couldn't get specific with the science of why this works, but it's something to do with air pressure. A quick Google search of "why does water stay in a straw" will get you more physics forums than you know what to do with, any of which could explain much better than I can, :D

Would this float, say if we wanted to bring it to the pool? Or does it fill very quickly and sink?

It does float. The cloud will only fill with water if you hold it under water and allow it to fill up. As far as sinking when it is full I remember it still floating because of the hole on top. I may be wrong though.

My sons favourite bath toy

If you have one bath toy, make it this one! Plunge it under the water and feel the bubbles as the air is displaced - turn it upside down for lots of little bubbles, or leave it upright for a few big ones - then cover the hole, lift it high, and watch it rain!

Great bath toy

My toddler loves the cloud and I love that it doesn't collect mildews. It opens up so it is easy to clean and I decided not to buy squirting toys you can't clean anymore since it's a waste of money in the long run (mildews!). She loves that it rains and you can stop the rain. It is made of plastic so I can only hope it's not gonna crack because my toddler unintentionally drops things on the floor all the time. She dropped it a few times too but so far so good.
