Can it be used as a gate alarm the instructions say indoor only

I would not. It is designed for indoor use and has no protection against the weather.

Is this item waterproof for mounting externally?

Tried the shrink wrap method and it worked for a while. I have now used a condom and is 100% water proof and the solar panel still works.

Has anyone used this on the front door inside of their house?

Dont see why not Jessica, mine is on the garage door once it's set up you just press number 4 whenever you leave to arm the alarm and when you return just put your chosen code in to disarm.

How far for sensor can siren be ?

As stated on the listing, the gap between the magnetic contact and the alarm should be within 10mm.
