The cord works perfectly for what I need it for. I use it to charge my Android MP3 player. It's longer than the one it (player) came with which is perfect for my needs. Long story short, my Mac was slow at recognizing an SSD external drive when using regular USB-C charging cables. I'm no expert, but I suspected that a fast, dedicated data transfer cable would help with that. The fact that it's short might also help, who knows. But it did the trick. Now my computer recognizes the external drive immediately when I plug it in. And the data transfer seems a lot faster than before.
