Vice grips.
These are the best quality vice grip on the market all other grips are too soft and bend to easily these can last a long time.

The one for the price
After trying 'heavily' a few cheaper versions of this tool, nothing worse than seeing the rusty bolt/nut you want to remove getting rounder and rounder as the tool slips and keeps filing the bolt's head off further into an even more impossible job. Then, you get one of these, which sinks its strong jaws with a solid click into the meagre remainder of what your desperation and a cheap tool has made of what once used to be a bolt/nut, and you see it effortlessly coming away...then you think....why did I not have one of these in the first place...have I not learned anything in life? There are even better quality and much more expensive locking pliers than this, but you would need to go to the USA to be able to purchase them, so this is the minimum you should get, unless you want to feel the heat when that rusty bolt is laughing at you in your distorted sweaty face...and I am not exagerating

The Real Deal.
Once again, Irwin come to the rescue. An exhaust joint nut, already distorted by previous bodgery, locked solid and impossible to move with socket, spanner or splitter. I'd all but given up, but ordered this on the strength of previous reviews. It had the job done in minutes. Real, solid American quality - I am very impressed. Everyone should buy one. Seriously.

the locking mechanism is properly designed
this design is strong and fit for purpose i bought these pliers because the locking mechanism on my old pair actually was not designed properly with the locking handle working upside down and able to wedge underneath the tightening bolt on the end which meant that they would lock on and would be difficult to unclamp my previous pair had a stamp on them saying that they were made by mole in uk but surely mole couldnt have been so stupid in their design. these ones are made by irwin they are very satisfying as theyre very solidly made and grip properly but it takes very little effort to release the locking mechanism when needed

Good value but not the best
I think the Irwin Visegrip Locking Pliers represent pretty good value for money. These do feel fairly well made, certainly much better than some cheap versions available. Irwin offer a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects on their hand tools so they should last a good time. There are better quality locking pliers available but these also cost quite a bit more. For comparison I also have a pair of Knipex 250mm locking pliers although these are the prism style jaw so not an equal comparison but there is a noticeable difference in quality with the Knipex feeling heavier and better in the hand with no rattling parts if you shake them. The Visegrips on the other hand rattle considerably if you shake them. It is worth noting that Irwin Visegrips are only 10 inches long with the adjuster screw fully extended to the last thread, the actual pliers are only about 8.5 inches long. The Visegrips are visibly smaller than the Knipex although both are quoted as being the same size. Another notable thing about the Visegrips is that they have a fair amount of slop around the main upper and lower jaw pivot. You can rock the jaws laterally with respect on one another about 1mm each side (2mm or so overall). Although I have to say that when you have them clamped down tight this does not appear to be an issue but it does give an indication of the quality and there is no such slop in the Knipex which are obviously made to tighter tolerances. The adjuster screw on the Visegrips is nice, its a good size and nicely knurled. Overall good value but if you are looking for the very best quality the Visegrips might not be for you. I have added a couple a pics so you can see the size and comparison. Hope this is helpful.

Original and best
With any tool purchase the adage is "buy cheap, buy twice" and nothing could be more true than this. This is the original Mole wrench and is very well made and easy to use. On Saturday, I needed to remove a screw where the head had rusted off and only a very small stub of metal was left exposed; I thought that I was going to have trouble gripping it. Nothing could have been further from the truth and this both gripped, and stayed gripped, to allow me to remove easily. Quality counts and this is it... Recommended.

Very handy on nut's or bolts that have been rounded off by previous misuse.

Better than I thought
To be honest my expectations were quite low. I figured I would try it and if it wasn’t any good I’d just return it. It unexpectedly exceeded my expectations. It’s well made. It’s sturdy. The quality is definitely there. It does the job well. I’d certainly buy it again. Easy to recommend.

Das Original...
Das gleiche Modell benutze ich bereits über 30 Jahre und habe die Zange meiner Freundin für ihren neuen Werkstattwagen spendiert. Ged... o. Haz.. o. Fac.. sind auch nicht besser. Habe diese auch in Gebrauch ;-)

The original, and still the best!
Strong, reliable and a very sure grip. Many have copied the design, but few are as good. I don’t like to skimp on tools!
