Is there a hole in the centre?

on the new ones there is no hole :)

Would this be suitable to use pyrography on?

Not sure because it’s balsa wood which is soft and delicate so may burn too deep. However I’m not an expert.

yes they are heated in a kiln and dried out

Hi, would these be good to turn to a platter? Thanks.

I used it for a wedding cake. It is quite absorbent so you would need to seal it
