Makita P-90071 13-in-1 Racheting Screwdriver with Various Bits Hidden in the Handle

Brilliant driver comes with various bits and is a great tool. I’ve had one For years and used a lot as I do a lot of work using tools. It’s been spot on and the ratchet works perfect. Well worth buying

A useful tool that covers most fixing bases. The selection of bits seems good and held together in the handle by a sturdy rubber holder. When in use the bit is held in place by magnet and the coloured collar, this is better than the basic but similar Rolson unit it replaced. Slight negative points are the handle is large in the hand and rather heavy, not something you would keep in your pocket for long periods. Overall seems v good quality, very happy with purchase and speed of delivery.

I had a Stanley version of this which has lived in its wall mounted holster in my cupboard as my 'go-to' bit of kit for all those times when a driver is needed. Having bought some Makita gear, I have been impressed by their quality and being a complete sucker for gadgets, I bought this because it wasn't too expensive and I liked the look of it. It's the traditional 'Makita Lurid Green' colour (ok, so you're saying 'That's not green - it's turquoise...' - whatever) - which is a bit 'Marmitey' I must say. I don't mind it. It has an unscrewable bottom which houses a good selection of bits for the driver, which has the quick-release 'hex-shank' system - they literally just pop in and out. I like this feature - and it's a huge improvement over the Stanley which also accepts the hex-shanks but is purely magnetic - the problem being that if you are screwing too hard, or it's too tight (!!), the bit can come out of the driver and lodge in the screw. With the Makita, that can't happen. However - the Stanley has one advantage - its body is triangular. This means it doesn't roll away when you put it down. The Makita, being cylindrical, DOES roll away when you put it down! The ratchet on the Makita is solid enough - and direction is changed by turning the small collar between the handle and the bit holder. Although this is smooth, it's perhaps TOO smooth - and if your hand should slip when working with the driver, it is possible for the direction of the ratchet to change. A minor gripe. If you're looking for a general-purpose screwdriver that will cover most jobs around the house - this should be on your shortlist.

There are screwdrivers and there are screwdrivers! This is certainly the best racket screwdriver I've had. It has replaced a wobbly Stanley racket screwdriver that lasted about five years of fairly light use. I think this one would last a lifetime! The one issue that someone might have with this screwdriver is the weight. It's considerably heavier than the plastic (compared with metal for the Makita) Stanley racket screwdriver that it's replacing, but not excessively so. The screw bits are solid too, but it would have been nice for the longer ones to have a thiner shaft (for longer) as they can't reach into even a standard recessed screw the way they are designed.

I bought this tool as I had started covering a building maintenance role at work. I needed something that I could take around the building with me to tackle most jobs. This screwdriver is not small but has a good solid weight to it. All of the bits are contained in the handle and are split between 25mm bits and 50mm bits. 50mm tends to be for the more common pozi, flat etc and 25mm for hex/torx. There is also an extension for the 25mm bits that lives inside the handle. Personally, I prefer to keep the bits in the handle while I’m using the tool, only removing the one I need, as I like the weight. I saw some reviews that mentioned the screw cap and that it seemed like the threads weren’t great and I would agree that this is probably the only thing that detracts away from all the other positives of this screwdriver. I would also suggest that bashing things with the end of the screwdriver would also risk cracking the plastic base - might sound obvious but I think I’ve used all of my tools as a hammer at some point! Ratchet is nice and smooth and the quick realease bit holder is solid and can be removed to be put in an impact or drill should you need it. I bought this for £10ish, which was half the price of the cheapest wera competitor and this has more bits and a ratchet and is still a reputable tool brand. Incidentally, I also have the wera but if you are looking for versatility I would say the makita edges it (I’ve put my hands over my wera’s ears - didn’t want it to get upset!)

While powered drivers are really useful, sometimes only a hand tool can fit or do the job. This one takes all the bits from my power tools, so with one more tool I've got a large choice of bits to complete jobs. Saves a lot of money!

das ist genau der Schraubendreher den man am meisten auch als Nichthandwerker benötigt. Preis und Qualität sind sehr gut. die Bits sind im Griff verstaut und der Schraubendreher liegt gut in der Hand und hat sogar noch eine Ratschenfunktion. Also beim Kauf macht Du nichts falsch.

Anyone looking at this will miss the part this this ratcheting driver is not sold ANYWHERE in the United States. It only exists in a little shop in London England. I got this thing thinking I will be tossing out the included bits to put in my Impact Gold or Impact X bits. Nope! Yeah those high end bits will fit in the drivers handle with ease. However, what's inside the handle are bits the Makita failed to make for its higher end impact brand. Really, this set needs to be re-packed and branded with these same bits but made in impact gold! The main selling point for me outside of the ratcheting drivers you can get in the States is the handle storage. It's very well done. Best ratcheting system for a hand driver (I've been through many). This is a solid tool. Use it primarily as a finishing driver with my Makita Impact Driver. Makes using the Impact Driver on more fragile jobs much easier. If an impact driver is your only all around power drill/driver, you need this tool!

Yesterday I bought a screwdriver and I immediately did a little test and inspection of the quality of the product, but I must say that this screwdriver is a muck! The rattle lets you loose while the screw is being turned and the rattle lock does not hold at all! Today I make a complaint.
