GLOTRENDSPA41 Quad M.2 NVMe to PCIe 4.0 X16 Adapter Without PCIe Bifurcation Function, Support 22110/2280/2260/2242/2230 Size (PCIe Bifurcation Motherboard is Required)

Needed to expand an old (ish) HP Z440 and add NVMe drives. Bought this to add 2 drives to the PC and realised it holds for so I'm more than happy. Amazing kit and works bang on - even recognised in Opencore when building a Hackintosh from the HP Z440.

I tried this adapter on 2 different motherboards with 2 Gen4 SSDs and a 5 ports SATA HBA. They were all detected and I was able to get Gen4 speeds from the SSDs concurrently. The speed of the SSDs didn't change between my sequential and concurrent tests.This adaptor definitely doesn't work without motherboard support for bifurcation and it must be explicitly turn on in BIOS, "Auto" won't do.I do want to note that the first time I tested it, I got Gen4 speeds from one SSD and got abismal speeds from the other SSD. Swapping the SSDs appeared to fix this. Not sure what that was about but it works now.

As per other reviews, this is NOT a bifurcation card and uses a very slow PCIE switch.If you're searching for a real bifurcation card, search product code 'B0C89P5XWT' or alternatively model 'PH44PRO'

The support for 4 x M.2 NVMe SSD RAID-on-CPU is excellent and compatibility with PCIe 4.0/3.0 X16 is a bonus. Especially loved how it handled large amounts of data with ease. If you need a storage management upgrade, this is a great buy. Highly recommended!

Firstly the plus, this card works well, but make sure your motherboard supports "Bifurcation" i.e. x4x4x4x4 on the slot you want to put it in.The bad, I have stopped buying them now as the last 4 I have purchased were all missing the steps\screws to mount the NVMEs

This works perfectly in my Dell R630, just to note though if you have the three slot configuration, this card is slightly too long. Cutting around an inch off with a dremel makes it fit perfectly though.

Poor design, screws too long to actually attach ssd to board correctly. Arguably not fit for purpose if you don’t have access to shorter screws

All the 4 NVMe ssd showed up in windows and it works as is supposed to.If your motherboard supports bifurcation you won't be having any problems using this.Read your motherboard manual before leaving a negative review
