Excellent bit of kit.
I'm not great at choosing what to buy, and much to my frustration some purchases can turn into major research projects. This turned out to be another of those episodes. I eventually went for this item due to price, reviews and it's flexibility ability to drive home both Brad's and staples. The reviews say tacwise are great - but they are more pricey, and I couldn't find one to do both jobs I didnt want two. Having tested it, I'm really impressed with the tool, it's a nice weight and feels great quality in the hand. It has a handy gauge that tells you how many staples you have left and the power can be increased/ reduced. Changing the fixings is very easy, contrary to what some people have said in reviews - they must not be able to open and close a door without instructions. Things to note - you don't get any staples or Brad's with it. The instructions both online and in the manual are not clear about what to buy. Simply search "18 gauge" and buy them. I went for tacwise Brad's and fixman staples ( which are slightly cheaper) but both work fine, no jams etc. Incidentally they fix your item very firmly, I tested it on some cloth and struggled to remove the test piece - I'd imagine ideal for upholstery work etc. You get very little damage to the wood from the tool and once driven home the staple is about 1mm below the surface - so perfect for sanding etc. If in doubt, I can't recommend this air stapler enough, great value for money, excellent bit of kit.

Does not jam!
My previous stapler/nailer was constantly jamming, this however has a far superior design. The staples sit over the top of the 'magazine', astride, so to speak. I've stapled around 25 sq metres of mesh to decking with no jamming at all. Brilliant! The quality of the product is fine and for the cost, this is really good value for money. I have to say I would completely ignore the bad reviews that complained of poor documentation. Really? If you need a manual to use a pneumatic stapler, you shouldn't be using one.

Good and Bad
I already have a Nail gun, the Makita AF505N, but needed a stapler so I chose this Silverline 633524 as it had quite good reviews and I thought that it would do no harm to have a backup nail gun. Comparing the Maklita to the Silverline, the Makita is more than double the price and fires only nails. However the Makita's build quality is far superior, it has a quick release system for jammed nails and it comes with a case. In the time I have owned the Makita it has never jammed. When it comes to firing nails the Makita also wins in that it does not leave a mark on the wood and the head of the nail sinks flat with the surface of the wood. The Silverline 633524 arrived before I got any staples so I tested its nailing capabilities first. It fires fine, trigger is a bit flimsy, but it never jammed. The negative is that it leaves a 1mm dent in the pine wood the width of a staple. I tweaked the trigger/nozzile and didn't hold the gun as hard up against the wood and this reduced the dent, but did not irradiate the problem As a stapler the Silverline 633524 is a real disappointment. In the manual it states that it takes both Type A and Type 90 staples (I thought these were the same staple type but on further research they are not). I bought the Silverline Type A 10mm staples thinking it would be safer to go with the same make. After loading the staples the Silverline 633524 jammed every time after 2 to 3 staple shots or the staples didn't go into the wood properly and looked liked a squashed staple (only way I can describe it). When the Silverline 633524 jams you then realise there is no quick release, so it takes a while to remove the jammed staple. As it jammed so often with staples I eventually gave up and used clout nails with a hammer instead. On further research some people have mentioned that using Type 90 staples fixes the jamming problem, so I have order some to see if this does fix the issue. Conclusion: I would give the Silverline 633524 5 stars as a nailer (when you consider the price) and 1 star as a stapler, hence the 3 star result. I received the Fixman Type 90 staples today. Fired 20 staples into pine wood and it did not jam. So, I have increased the rating from three stars to four, loosing one star for poor instructions which resulted in me wasting time and money buying 5000 Type A staples, which I now have no use for.

Easy to use and no jamming.
The item was easy to use and very good, I have used this on a project already. In the first 2 days it has used approximately 1000 40mm Brad's and 500 20mm staples, all have been fired without a problem, I regularly oil the gun to avoid jamming and i have not had one issue with this gun..

Cheap and very cheerful
I've no experience with nail guns, and was contemplating getting a cheap (£100 ish) battery jobbie when this popped up. Already have a compressor and other air tools, so thought I'd try this. Blimey, what a bargain! Nifty for pinning bits together while glueing up in workshop, and by dragging compressor (has wheels) into garden, was able to use outside, where I have run hundreds of galvanised pins into various garden frames to hold netting etc. Terrific value ....should have got one years ago.

Veramente soddisfatto.

Works a treat
Gun nailer but don't change staples in the middle as it will jam. (Round top for flat top staples) other then that works great
