Highly recommend effective product
I didn't bother with a strand test as don't tend to react much to product ingredients. I had used conditioner previously but it didnt seem to make any difference to the product bonding to the hair. I mixed it up in a yogurt pot and applied it to parted hair with a long handled teaspoon. Easy to do. Massaged it in and then sat for two hours with the shower cap covering it. Rinsing in the shower took a while. It needed LOTS of rinsing but the splashes did not stain. Everything wiped clean very easily. I chose chestnut. There were no orange patches as I feared might happen. No streaks. Just an even colour all over. Smells a bit like a barn full of old straw. Not great. But end result is very good and I will now only use this natural prodect. I only used one sachet as I have short hair so for me it is cheaper than using the naturtint I used before. I highly recommend.

Absolutely Brilliant! :)
Went for the dark brown after not getting on with the light brown. This product is brilliant I can’t stress that enough. I dye my beard otherwise I’d be so grey and I’m only a 33 year old man. I was using just for men for the past year but after a few months I developed severe itchy red skin due to whatever toxic chemical they use in their products. It wouldn’t surprise men if the just for men products are likely carcinogenic or dangerous to health. So I went on the lookout for something organic or natural and came across this which I have to admit I thought it was a load of bolloc@s But, I ordered it in the hope that I could get relief from whatever the just for men chemicals were doing to me and my skin was so itchy and sore. So I literally mixed a heaped tea spoons worth in a plastic container using my old just for men brush. Mixed it into a paste with warm water, I mixed mine too watery though I used away at it anyway. I painted it on liberally and went in and watched a couple of hours of tv. To my amazement when I washed it all off 2 hours later I had a lovely brown beard that looked natural and real for the first time in a year. My facial hair felt nourished and soft unlike before! And it came out the loveliest colour. And the main thing, no itchy red sore face anymore, no irritation and no endless scratching. What a truly wonderful product that is better for your health and actually does a far better job. Thank you so much to whoever came up with this! Tips! Couple of things I learned The powder is green so when you paint it on your face or head things look green even after washing out. Not green like grass but a greenish tinge. Do not worry about this, I noticed after waking up the next day when it oxidises the true colour appears and it’s lovely when it does. I apply in the evening once a week for this reason. For men’s beards you need only a little bit of powder and water so it will last ages There’s an earthy natural smell that lingers especially if the hair gets wet. This doesn’t bother me at all the benefits far outweigh any worry of that It takes longer than my old just for men product ie 2 hours as opposed to 10 minutes however I have no weird chemical burns / irritation and my skin and beard is far better using this Pure stuff without a shadow of a doubt. I treat myself once a week to this and look at it like a bit of me time, sounds weird but when you feel the difference for yourself you’ll thank yourself for it. Final thoughts! If you are like me and you like organic, less harmful chemicals or simply want a product that looks much more natural that the chemical dyes then I’d say jump at this. I’m so so glad I’ve found it and I’ll never go back to just for men or similar toxic chemical brands

Definitely contains PPD. Avoid at all costs if allergic
Ended up in hospital on steroids!!!! This hair dye is not natural as claimed. I patch treated was all ok and then boom! Massive allergy. I noticed the dye was jet black and would not wash out like normal henna. It is permanent and you can only get permanent colour with PPD. Do not buy if you are allergic to PPD

Brilliant natural product
Really good, natural hair colour. Scary at first as a rich green colour, I have light blonde hair with very grey roots and the golden blonde tone, coloured it very well, 1 lighter blonde would be an ideal addition to the range for me. Bit newsy to apply, and long development time, they recommend between 1-3 hours, I did 45mins as first time using it and was being cautious. I have longish hair, just past shoulders and mixed up 1 and half packets of the 2 supplied, and 1 would of been plenty enough, had loads kept over, which makes this a very economical purchase, esp as my hair has beenvthinning and wanted a natural product. Highly recommend this product and will def purchase again

Natural dye, works well - first time hair dyer
I've never dyed my hair before, but the stress of the past few years has given me a fair few white hairs. So after a long time of putting it off, I decided to dye it. The only problems is that I get allergic to everything. That's why I went for a natural dye. (Because I knew, just knew, that if I went the chemical route, I'd be done for.) Fortunately I wasn't allergic to this. (To give you a sense of how bad things are, when I did the patch test, my skin was even allergic to the sticking plaster I used to cover the sample.) I'm not going to make a habit of dying my hair too often, just in case I develop some kind of reaction. But I did two patch tests a week apart, and used the dye twice over two days, and it's worked well. I have hair which is on the brown side of black, and so went for Very Dark Brown. I used probably 70% of the packet, mixing it up with water into a yogurt-y paste. I should though have added more water, because the paste sort of dries out as you're putting it on and gets really stiff. Nonetheless, it dyed most of my hair pretty dark. There were a few wispy ones near my ears here and there that I missed (probably because I didn't make the paste runny enough), and that just went kind of blue-grey from the indigo (because Very Dark Brown is a mix of henna and indigo). But I fixed those the next day with a targeted re-application on just those side bits. Here are my tips for application: - Wear: dark coloured clothing that's easy to take off (ideally without having to go over the head) before application - Mixing: Make paste wetter, as paste dried out a lot during application - Rinsing: Wear gloves for rinsing as well, to stop nails staining (can scrub off hands, but hard to get out from underneath cuticles which take a few days to wash out) - Drying: Use dark coloured towels for hair, both on rinsing and next wash. My white towel stained faintly blue, a bit like jeans that run in the wash - though it was fine after I washed it, best not to risk it - Cleaning: Rinse shower tiles after, the dye doesn't seem to stain them The smell to me is like matcha green tea. And I could still smell it slightly during my third hair wash later. But I don't mind that, and am overall very pleased. Considering all the things that could have gone wrong (allergic reaction, staining everything in sight etc), my hair has come out well. The downside is definitely the long recommended application time window (1.5-4 hrs for Very Dark Brown). I only had the patience to keep it on for 2.5 hrs the first time (whole head) and 1.5-2 hrs the second time (for the missed side bits), but my hair's gone dark all over. In fact next time I'll get a lighter shade, as it's ever so slightly darker than my natural hair. My hair's also now looking a little bit more glossy, which I didn't expect (it was a bit dry before but doesn't look dried out at all, like some women's do with chemical dye). So all in all, it's worked well for me. If you're covering a few greys, like I was, make sure you slather it onto the most obvious bits, to save having to reapply like I did the next day. Also, Very Dark Brown is almost black, so if your hair is on the brown side of black, you might want to go a shade or two lighter to just cover the greys. Otherwise your whole head might end up darker than you intended. I'll try Dark Brown or Natural Brown next time. It'll be interesting to see how those turn out.

Depends on scalp health and expected results.
I bought the dark brown as my drug store brown hair dye had washed out and I was interested in going all natural oroducts. The application was long in the prep work mixing the product with a measured amount of hot water (mixing in coffee is not worth it) when applying it was difficult as it would dry , tangle , pull and knot my hair. With it being so thick it is quite difficult to make sure every hair covered, so it can take a while. When washing off the dye (After 4 Hours Developing Time) it was like a huge wash if suage flying out of my hair , on to the tiles and shower curtain ,covering all surrounding services with a dirty mucky green colour (thankfully it came off ) The results were red , patchy and dull. Greys were not fully covered and by the second wash there was no grey coverage at all. My Sebhorroic dermatitis was brought in to high level itch and flakesikr never before. (Usually with drug store box dyes my scalp has an improvement, so I wasn't expecting my scalp to react so bad)They say you would need to build up layers (ain't no way that I'm going through that he'll again) my hair was a medium brown shade it shouldn't need more than one coat. If you have a scalp issue and it's fine with normal dyes or you need instant results, have grey/white hairs you would like covered or have dry hair, I do not recommend. If your dying your hair darker , have no greys , a healthy scalp, just want a subtle change and don't mind red tones and added work and time then this may be for you .

Its Pure Dark Brown plus Its Pure Indigo treatment
I have long hair, naturally very dark brown, but nowadays it's around 60% grey, mainly at the top, sides, and crown. The ends of my hair also contain chemical colourants from the days when I hadn't developed an allergy to them. Recently I had been left colouring my grey roots with temporary sprays which are messy and leave marks on pillows, chair backs, etc. Not good. So, after a bit of research, I plucked up courage to use the Its Pure treament as it appears to be one of the more reliable, natural ones. First Treatment: Used Dark Brown treatment only. I used 2/3 of the packet (this included the small amounts for the strand test and skin test). Skin test 72 hours before treatment showed no bad effects. Strand test showed no change whatsoever, but I did remove it after an hour. So I went ahead.... Washed hair to remove any products. Did not condition. Dried hair. Mixed powder and put on hair straight away. Started with grey roots and when these were fully covered, I used the rest to cover the remainder of my hair. Put on the plastic cap, cleaned odd spills from my face and arms with baby wipes (came off straight away). Cleaned odd spills in bathroom...these came off straight away (apart from the rug which now has a couple of darker patches....). Got on with things around the house and left mixture on my hair for over 4 hours.... Tried to rinse the mixture off with clear water, but it was resistant, so I had to use a small amount of shanpoo for coloured hair. Added a small amount of conditioner too and then dried with hair dryer. Result: Most of my hair turned out a lovely warm, dark brown. However, the grey roots on the top and crown of my head were mid to light brown and had a vague pinky glow to them. If the grey had been spread out across my hair, I would have been happy with 'highlights' like this. But as the lighter hair was all in particular sections, it was a little noticeable, so stage two had to be started... I waited 24 hours and sure enough, the roots did darken a little (as promised on the packet), but they were still fairly noticeable. So Second treatment: I had already read of some reviewers using more indigo. So I had a packet of Its Pure Indigo ready. I mixed up the remaining third of the Dark Brown power and (after reading another recommendation) I covered the bowl with cling film and left it to stand for 30 minutes while I washed the conditioner out of my hair and dried it again. After 30 minutes I took about 1/3 of the Indigo power and mixed it with lukewarm water in a separate bowl. Then, when it was mixed, I added it to the bowl with the first treatment and mixed them together. Then, I put the treatment on my dry, clean hair, concentrating on the roots and areas where I have more grey. I had a little pure indigo left in the bowl, so I also added that to the top roots and crown. Then I spread the rest of the mixture down my hair, but didn't bother too much with the very ends. This time, I covered my hair with cling film first and then put the plastic cap on top. Waited nearly 3 hours and then rinsed with warm water. I had to use a small amount of shampoo again, plus conditioner. Hair is now a lovely, very dark brown and the roots are almost as dark as the rest, so success! Will use again, but next time with a mix of half dark brown and half indigo, probably just on new roots and previously covered grey. Extra notes: Smell is earthy, but not too bad and disappeared after conditioning. I did get a slightly itchy scalp, but I think this was more down to having plastic on my head for hours than to the treatment and it was nothing like the long-term stinging itchiness I get from chemical dyes. So I'm very pleased :)
