MERKUR Moustache/Eyebrow Razor

I lost my original Merkur moustache razor during a house move and came online to look for a replacement. I was surprised to read so many ambivalent or negative reviews. My experience over many years of use has been of a well-engineered, nicely balanced item with razor blades suitable for the intended purpose – detail shaving over small areas. It provides precision and a perfectly good shave. Those who have found the blades to be blunt, or of limited life, must be overshaving or using it to cover larger expanses of bristle which is not what it's for. As regards the service from the retailer, this was excellent. Delivery was bang on forecast and the price is competitive.

Very small, almost like a toy and doesn't really do what it's supposed to do for whatever it is claiming, and even worse as it's supposed to be German quality.

Provided you are aware of some its inherent limitations it is a handy shaving accessory for those of us with a penchant for growing intricately trimmed beards and moustaches. Firstly, as a few reviewers have noted it only comes with one blade, so order a small ten blade pack when you purchase it. Secondly, the blades, although they are sharp enough, are short and stubby and not as flexible as standard sized blades. The overall effect of this becomes evident with the shaving action you have to employ; you are obliged to repeatedly alter the razor's angle of contact with your face whilst furiously scraping away at your stubble all the while blowing out your cheeks to maintain a taut contact surface. If like me, you occasionally burst into laughter at the ungainly spectacle you present, the process inevitably becomes somewhat protracted. That said, with a bit of persistence, the outcome will be worth it. Indeed, these irksome drawbacks notwithstanding I have found it a handy addition to my shaving armoury and routinely use it to cut away the fiddly parts of my facial hair that my standard sized razors cannot reach without denuding large swathes of beard that I would much rather preserve.

Very precise means of keeping your moustache tidy. Two blades of different sizes, on either side of the razor head. Very easy to change blades.

But it just doesn't work It's a shame because its a well made product and looks good too but it's the blades that are the problem

I wasn’t impressed

La lametta nella confezione forse può tagliare il burro. La barba non certamente. Con una buona nuova lametta non avrei potuto passare il dito così tranquillamente (vedi il video). Così ti obbligano a comprare subito altre lamette...... Saranno affilate????? AGGIORNAMENTO: ho comprato una confezione da 10 lamette. Non servono a NIENTE! NON TAGLIANO NIENTE. NON COMPRATELO È UNA FREGATURA

J'ai déjà eu ce rasoir que j'ai utiliser des années jusqu'à ce que je le perde. J'ai eu un bris, probablement dans le transport, qui a fait que j'ai dû le renvoyer. Les commentaires négatif que ça fonctionne pas bien sont de personnes qui savent pas l'utiliser correctement. C'est un produit de très bonne qualité et le seul au monde de ce genre. Construction Allemande très durable. Vous pouvez affilée les lames avec du papier 1200 ou plus fin.
