Durable and High-Quality Finish for High-Temperature Applications
This high temperature spray paint has proven to be an excellent choice for high-temperature applications. I used it to refresh my grill and fireplace, and the results have been outstanding. The paint applies smoothly and evenly, providing a sleek and durable black finish that withstands high heat without any issues. One of the best features of this spray paint is its ability to resist chipping and peeling, even under intense heat. This durability ensures that the finish remains intact and looking great for a long time. The spray nozzle is well-designed, offering good control and minimizing overspray, which makes the application process straightforward and mess-free. There is a small downside which is the strong odor during application, so it's essential to use it in a well-ventilated area or outdoors. However, this is a common issue with most spray paints and doesn't detract from the overall performance. I believe this "Hi-Temp" spray paint delivers a high-quality, long-lasting finish for any high-temperature surfaces. Its durability and ease of application make it a top choice for anyone needing reliable high-heat paint. I would highly recommended for its excellent results.

Great heat paint
Rolled this paint on the majority of the wood stove, after sanding down and taking time to prep. Didnโt appear to cover all that well after 2 coats, but after it burned off a few times it looks fantastic and not peeling, nor coming off after one season being used quite often. Very happy with this paint. Very watery too

Works well from the cat back on exhaust systems
Was looking for a high heat paint that you could BRUSH on to a metal exhaust system. Yeah, I know, this stuff is for fireplaces, I get it. BUT...If you read the can, it can be applied on steel or stainless steel. Ah ha moment ! I found something ! Did some homework on Rutland's website, and yes it can be brushed onto exhaust systems. Rutland always made fantastic / versatile products. So, I followed the directions, blah, blah, and began brushing it on the exhaust system. First off, the fumes this paint gives off will give you brain damage ( just kidding...but they are BAD ). Make sure you are applying it in a well ventilated area. It dries super fast to a matte black. 2 or more coatings will require you to " bake" the paint for better adhesion. ( That's easy with an exhaust, just start the car and let it run a few minutes). Very thin paint, so it glides right on. A little goes far. Now, the can says it can tolerate up to 1400 degrees of heat. So, after all said and done, took car for a ride on the highway to get exhaust good and hot. Peeling began at the manifold down to the 1st catalytic converter. Everything after that was PERFECT ! Going to have to use 2,000 degree ceramic spray paint where the peeling occurred. All in all, it's a GREAT product

Works Well! Over-priced, and super fume-y, but I have tips!
I read what a lot of other said about the fumes, and here's the real deal: This product seems low fume when you first start applying it--but that changes abruptly about 20 minutes in, so here's what you need to know: Open all windows and turn on fans first, apply your paint QUICKLY, because once it starts to dry--and the other reviews which mention the quick drying properties are very accurate--it is AWFUL. BUT...if you just open all doors and windows, vent with fans, and go outside for a couple of hours, it is totally fine. It does NOT take days to pass, and I painted the inside of my entire fireplace. My only thought about the folks who claim it took 3 days to pass is that maybe they applied several coats?? To be fair though, I don't light fires in my fireplace (yucky smoke in our home is not attractive or healthy), so I might have noticed the fume-y smell again if the surface heated up? But..it is really expensive for what it is--though there really isn't anything else out there that costs less, so what are you going to do? As for the coverage--if you are trying to even out the color inside your fireplace after years of black ash have stained it, this is the right product. My fireplace looks great! Just plan to paint on nice weather day where you do not mind being outside and leaving your doors and windows open. Get a BIG fan ready too, because this really sped up the de-fuming process.

Best Paint Like Original
Painted Quadrafire wood stove after 19 years. Rutland brush on paint is about the best paint Iโve ever used. Preparation is key, removing rust and wiping down with ONLY laquer thinner as recommended on the label. Color, texture and coverage using 16 oz can was excellent. Looks original and brand new. Odor was high but went away same day after lighting stove. Gorgeous finish on the stove AND on the single wall stove pipe. Highly recommend.

Very good paint, works well but very strong smelling.
Used this paint to paint the brick and tile around the opening of my kiva style fireplace. The paint covers really flat and beautiful but it is extremely noxious. If you are using it I recommend a respirator and if you are indoors, do it while you can open doors and windows.

Makes it Look New
Excellent coverage. Dries to a flat black. I removed the rust with sandpaper as recommended, then painted, and now my woodstove looks brand new. It was smelly for about 6 hours until it was completely dry, so plan to open windows when applying.

Needs MANY COATS!
I used this to paint a gold fireplace. It turned out great, but required so many coats! Also- I had to let it COMPLETELY dry (about 1 hour) between coats. Otherwise, the fresh coat would stick to the existing coat and pull it off as I brushed the new coat on! It made for a very tedious project. I would recommend buying heat resistant spray paint if your project allows. I would have done that, but it wasnโt possible to take the face of this fireplace off to paint it.
