Med-Fit 3 Dual Channel TENS & EMS Muscle Stimulator for Pain Relief

For those who are looking for reviews to see if this really works, I can whole heartedly tell you the answer is YES! I'm using mine as I write this review. This is not a permanent cure for pain, but if you suffer badly, it does give some very welcome relief. I have, at the age of 47, osteo-arthritis, most noticeably in my knees. I have had an upper tibial osteotomy, where the metal plate snapped, and took some bone with it, so had the operation a second time, with the addition of bone graft taken from my hip. So, with one knee repaired, but still painful, and the other, unrepaired, and having taken a beating whilst I was on crutches for the best part of a year, I have a pretty good idea of how much difference this can make. You get plenty of easy to understand information regarding settings, placement of electrode pads, alternative placement, as well as some reusable pads to get you started. The pads supplied can be used many times, and replacements are pretty reasonable to buy on amazon, especially if you buy the 24 pack. How TENS works, is by disrupting the signal your body sends, from the pain area to your brain. The pain is an electrical signal that travels through your nerves and muscle. What the TENS gizmo does, is to send a fluctuating pulse across the path of the pain signal, so that little or no pain gets through. If you imagine a long thin warehouse, with a man shouting to a second at the other end. If you were to add two more men at the halfway point, and at the sides, one beating on metal, and the other using a circular saw on wood, then the sound from the shouting man would be lost, and not reach the other end. (Best way I could think of to explain it) What you actually feel is a tingling sensation, which increases as you turn the dial up. It is only painful if you turn it up way too far, so turn the dial slowly until you find your comfortable point. If you wonder how easy it is to use, well my technophobe 78 year old mum can use it, and she gets confused by the Sky box. ( Sorry Mum) Places like Lloyds or Boots chemists sell various makes and models of TENS units, from cheapish, to bloody expensive, but in my opinion, unless you need to treat more than two areas of pain at once, this is as good as any, and more reasonably priced than some. I really recommend this, as it give you at least a bit of respite from pain. Good luck to all who are looking at this, and have a need for it.

My old tens went after some years, so wasn’t sure what to go for next. However, when I saw this one and got it I was delighted. Why because of the compact size, the easiness of use, but you must read the manual which is clear and concise. This is a very durable product. The pads are marvellous both for size and stickiness. Once you get used to the controls you can adjust the pain level to what you want easily and it gives you great pain relief. Very happy as I am a long term patient for spinal problems. Pain will never disappear completely, it will come back at some point, but this product makes every day life a heck of a lot easier. Yes I would recommend.

Very good machine...quite powerful

After much searching I had the fortune to find this product. From UK. It is substantial, reliable & working! TENs machine. It is easy to set the modes & frequency. & has a metal belt clip. I use it for vTNS so bought the ear clips separately . Setting it for that usage was easy to do . The pad sent for pain are also good, with an easily altered rate . Nicely portable , good stability & adhesive pads. This device I would highly recommend

I was a bit dubious about buying this if I'm honest... I'd bought a machine designed for the neck on a deals website previously which claimed to be a TENS device, and I suppose technically it was, but let me tell you it was a painful experience as that thing had been poorly designed and came with basically no instructions as to how it was supposed to be set up or used. Needles to say it now lies unused in a drawer somewhere. However I had seen and heard about the effectiveness of TENS machines so I was prepared to give it another go as I've suffered from lower back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and leg pain for many years and financially at the moment I was unable to see one of the many physios or chiropractors I've used in the past. So I started researching devices on Amazon and came across the MedFit 3 device which was very reasonably priced, made by a British company and had excellent reviews so decided to order. There is also the MedFit 1 device which is very similar but the MedFit 3 has an LCD screen which I preferred as I could clearly check the settings. Item arrived next day and in the box you get 1 x MedFit device, 8 x self adhesive electrode pads (up to 4 can be used at once so it's effectively a 'spare' set for later, 1 x 9V PP3 battery (very welcome as it was something i'd totally forgotten about), wires to attach the TENS device to the self adhesive pads, and booklets and leaflets with very detailed step by step instructions on how to set the item up, how and where to place the pads for a variety of different types of pain or muscle areas and also a large booklet which shows you other products the company offers along with several different types of electrode pads and deals on them should you need more. So after quickly setting it up as per the instructions and attaching the pads I was ready to go,I attached the device to my jeans (it has a sturdy metal clip which is very handy) and VERY slowly turned it on.... I think it's important to point that out as this machine can be very powerful and the goal is to feel a warm, tingling sensation but if you just turn it all the way up straight away you'll definitely feel the full force and you don't want that. There's a definite 'click' when you turn the dial to ON which is reasssuring, and from there you can very slowly raise it to your preferred comfort level. The control dials on top also have a plastic lid that closes over so there's no chance you can accidentally turn it up or down. There are different modes you can set it to and different strengths and sites you can also set, these are all clearly set out in the instructions although you can adjust as you see fit. For instance you could have 1 set of 2 pads at a certain level on your shoulders and you could have the other set of 2 pads on your lower back at a different level, they're both independently controlled by the dials on top. The machine is designed so that you can wear it all day or just for an hour if you wish. So basically once I'd found 'my' setting it generated that nice, tingly feeling along my painful shoulders and I'll say it genuinely took most of the pain away and replaced it with that warm buzzing. Technically I think the pain doesn't actually go anywhere, it's still there, it's just that the tingling feeling effectively masks it, helps circulation and helps muscles to unwind..... It's kind of like a light massage or climbing into a warm bath and I found it to be a great help. I used the machine for a few hours that first day and have used it for a few hours each day since on different areas and it's providing me with great relief from the dull, achey pains I've had for years. As it can clip on to your belt I've even worn it outdoors and just had the wires under my jumper. I also find the relief extends past the time I'm actually wearing it as well, I feel a bit more mobile and generally less achey. I also had to email the company to ask a question and not only did they get back to me quickly but their service was excellent. So all in all I've found this a great little device for the price and I can't really think of many negative things to say..... It comes with a battery but i'd maybe buy an extra couple in advance as depending on your usage it may get used up quickly although my battery lasted a while, also the pads are very adhesive but sometimes can curl up or move if placed on a flexible area such as an elbow but I've been using plasters to hold them in place and that's been that problem solved, also the pads work best on areas that have been cleaned and dried thoroughly but I've also found that if you have hairy arms or legs it's better to shave the part where you put the pads as the hair makes them tend not to stick as well. Apart from that, I've absolutely nothing to complain about and I've got no hesitation in giving it 5 stars. Hopefully it works just as well for you.

Pleased with the product ,I am using it to mask long standing shoulder pain , the tingling /sensation that you are able to control to various levels ,is preferable to the pain from my shoulder blade area. Since receiving the Tens machine which I have had for five days ,I have used it everyday and I am using it now as I sit here typing this review, I am now on my 2nd 9v battery ,I do not know how the battery life compares with other products , but it seems that you would need to keep spare batteries ,sad to say but it does not take me long after removing the machine ,to ask my wife to position the sticky pads back in position so I can put it back to use. Be careful when turning the machine on do it slowly to a level that you are comfortable with ,do it too quickly and it will be unpleasant if you suddenly go too high, I do not know if it is that battery level drops or that I get used to the setting but I find that I keep increasing the setting ,I am just using two pads at present but you are able to use four , two pairs each controlled by two separate rotating switches ,the dials go from 0-8, at present my one is set at 5 and there is a timer which I have set at 60 minutes ,when the time is reached the machine bleeps ,I turn it off and on the settings are saved ,and there I go again for another hours relief . I have not read the instructions I turned it on and worked it out from there ,trying settings and modes ,using the different modes ,the machine could be set so that it works at a constant level or it fades in and out ,plenty of options for you to choose from, you can make muscles twitch ,tingle and squeeze .By nature I am unfortunately a sceptical person , but I am pleased with this little made in China box of tricks, if you can run the connecting wire under/inside your clothing if you are walking around , I snagged the wire on worktops and door handles , the wire either pulled out of the machine or the electrode/sticky pad reinsert all good, the sticky pads are reusable and stuck well to me even in this hot weather ,I cannot fault it ,I am pleased that I purchased it and I am now going to purchase a supply of batteries to keep me going ,hope my comments help , have a good life, this little box has improved mine.

It looks like a pocket radio from the 80s, and it works. And I mean it really works, I was prepared for it to just be a load of nonsense, but it’s not. I take less pain medication now that I have this, which is healthier and cheaper than trying to fix everything with pills. Thanks to manual controls and replaceable batteries, it should last a lot longer than equivalents with temperamental touchscreens, or rechargeable batteries that stop working and turn spicy after a few years of use. The guidance documents that come with it could have done with a bit of editing, but overall they’re solid and get across a lot of valuable information on how the thing works. There are also suggested electrode placements and settings for a bunch of common conditions so you have somewhere to start from. The controls are simple and clear, and the unit remembers its settings, so you’re not constantly fiddling with it. Overall, get one. The cost is minimal, and if you get any results the thing will pay for itself very quickly. Not to mention, you will be in less pain.

The machine is fairly well built, had no problems with the belt clip and tuning the machine is simple. The guide for electrode placement is easy to understand and includes recommended settings for different types of pain. I purchased this based on other peoples reviews and the device did work effectively for my back for around an hour until the pads stopped sticking and would fall off with slight movements. I guessed that it might have been body heat causing them to fall off as the pads had become extremely slick almost like hair gel, after letting them cool off they wouldn't stick at all. I am unsure if I had a bad batch of electrodes but unfortunately I am now returning the device as it is unusable in it's current state, it should go without saying that if an electrode falls off, don't panic and try to grab it while the device is on! I am quite disappointed as the device had an immediate effect on my back pain, completely nullifying the chronic pain once I'd played with the settings and dulling the sharp pains I had from movement. I was hoping to use it more frequently while I work on my physiotherapy, hopefully your experience will be better than mine! I hope this review is helpful and thanks for reading

Conseillé par mon ostéopathe j'utilise cet appareil depuis quelques jours. Aucun problème. La boîte n'était pas fermée par un scotch lors de la livraison. Seul bémol : pas un mot de français sur les notices d'utilisation !

Dommage que ont arrive plus à le commander j'aurai bien voulu le commander vu que le mien j'ai du le renvoie il fonctionnait super extrêmement bien vous savez me dire quand il sera disponible sa fait des mois qu’il est en rupture

Aparato estupendo, acabo de probar mi primera sesión tras terminar mis sesiones con el fisio y es como si tuviera el fisio en casa, mismas sensaciones y mismo alivio, afortunadamente. Se percibe robustez en su fabricación y en la calidad del resto de materiales como los cables y electrodos. Este aparato y sus accesorios son prácticamente identicos en formato que me puso el fisioterapeuta de la seguridad social; debido a que las sesiones son limitadas y aún no se alivio mi lumbado totalmente decidí comprarlo para continuar el tratamiento asesorado por mi fisio. Viene también con instrucciones en español para los que tengan problemas con la lengua de Shakespeare, algo que no me esperaba a raíz de otros comentarios aunque a mí no me supone problema alguno pero es de agradecer que el fabricante haya impreso manuales en nuestro idioma. Un manual de instrucciones del aparato y una guía ilustrada para la colocación de los electrodos y el programa recomendado para cada zona vienen con el aparato. Lo único más complejo sería que por su diseño la pantalla digital muestra directamente los parametros y el programa a ejecutar que puede no resultar demasiado intuitivo para las personas mayores o las menos acostumbradas a las tecnologías porque quizás esta mas orientado a un manejo profesional; el diseño no es su punto fuerte pero según indica la caja este TENS lo utilizan mayoritariamente en el sistema de salud pública de reino unido y clinicas de fisioterapia. La pila que precisa es una pila de petaca de las pequeñas de 9 voltios, quizás lo más extraño. Dispone de cinco modos: B (ráfagas), N (modulación), M, S1 (pulsos variables y cíclicos), S2 (pulsos variables y ciclicos). Podemos controlar la frecuencia, duración del pulso y la intensidad aunque no tiene un control del tiempo automático para la duración del programa (modo) por lo que habra que controlar manualmente la duración de la sesión. Estoy muy satisfecho por la calidad de los materiales, los estándares y todo ello a un precio realmente asequible.

Ich bin ein Fan von TENS- und EMS-Geräten. Da ich aus einem medizinischen Beruf komme, habe ich schon viel beruflich damit gearbeitet und schätze TENS und EMS als nebenwirkungsarme, aber sehr effektive Therapieform. Entsprechend habe ich auch kleine Geräte für den Hausgebrauch da, um in meiner Familie oder bei mir selbst mal das ein oder andere Wehwehchen kurieren oder lindern zu können. Vorab: Wovon reden wir da eigentlich? TENS ist die Abkürzung für Transkutane Elektrische Nervenstimulation und bedeutet nichts anderes, als dass man Nerven durch die Haut hindurch (transkutan) elektrisch reizt. Tut man das an der richtegen Stelle und auf die richtige Art und Weise, werden die betroffenen Nerven dadurch betäubt und man kann Schmerzen dadurch behandeln. EMS bedeutet Elektrische MuskelStimulation. Hier arbeitet man vorwiegend mit anderen Frequenzen und stimuliert die Muskeln - in der Regel, um sie zu lockern (manche glauben auch, auf diese Art und Weise ohne Training einen Sixpack zu bekommen - naja....). Und da beginnt das Problem: Wenn man keine Ahnung hat, was man da eigentlich tut, wird es problematisch. Es gibt Geräte, die feste Programme haben. Der Patient muss dann nur noch die Elektroden nach Anleitung an die richtige Stelle kleben und loslegen. Das Programm läuft über ein paar Stunden, während der Patient mit dem Gerät am Gürtel herumläuft. Fertig. Einzig die Reizstärke muss dann noch eingestellt werden. Dieses Gerät ist etwas anders aufgebaut: Zwar gibt es auch hier verschiedene Betriebsmodi, aber fest eingestellte Programme im eigentlichen Sinn gibt es hier nicht. Dafür (und das ist etwas, das ich sehr daran schätze) ist man hier völlig frei im Einstellen von Stärke, Modus, Frequenz und Amplitude. Kurz: Man ist nicht festgelegt auf bestimmte Programme, sondern kann individuell das einstellen, was man gerade möchte. Entsprechend ist es meiner Ansicht kein Anfängergerät. Aber es ist hervorragend, wenn man die volle Kontrolle über die Einstellungen möchte und sich mit TENS und EMS schon beschäftigt hat. Die Verarbeitung ist stabil, die Leistung sehr gut. Was mir sehr gut gefällt ist, dass alle Bedienelemente abgedeckt und somit gegen unbeabsichtigtes Verstellen geschützt sind (wer mal erlebt hat, dass die Katze sich auf's Bedienfeld fläzt, während man das Gerät gerade in Betrieb hat, weiß was ich meine....). Das Gerät läuft mit einer 9V Blockbatterie und tut das absolut zuverlässig. Die Pads sind normale mehrfach verwendbare Gelelektroden, die mit den üblichen 2mm-Steckern verbunden werden. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist mehr als angemessen. Von meiner Seite aus klare Empfehlung, sofern man sich eben schon mit der Anwendung von TENS bzw. EMS auskennt
