Before medicine had a lot of medicines, people used to use this to help with vascular issues and to heal sores. The trouble is that it doesn't stay in the system long. it is a flavonoid and converts to quercetin in the gut. IT helps with inflammation, is an antioxidant, and helps protects blood vessels and strengthens capillaries. It seems to help me heal faster. I don't know how much is safe to take in a day, studies have used up to 600mg. Since it doesn't stay in the system long, perhaps a lower strength, taken more often during the day. But there is no study on long term usage when I last checked, which was years ago. It may impair the ability of warfarin to thin the blood, and it may improve the ability of NSAIDs for pain relief. So check with your doctor.

Postpartum and breastfeeding! Hemorrhoids, ugh. I Take one capsule with vitamin C and B-complex for better absorption. Takes few weeks to work, but hey, this saved my butt. My proctologist was ready to offer procedures and now there is nothing to band! I take it in AM after breakfast. I’m also on MiraLAX and magnesium, so constipation wasn’t an issue. My baby’s gut wasn’t affected either. I’ve seen midwife’s recommending it even during pregnancy, but my issue started PP.

I have been taking rutin for over two years now. Out of all the supplements I take, this is the one I never skip a day on, because it has made such a huge difference in my Ménière’s disease symptoms. My midwife had originally recommended I take it, as I was having a lot of trouble with capillaries in my legs breaking during my pregnancy. No more trouble after I started taking this. It has also made a big difference in the number of nosebleeds I get during the winter, and if I get one, it stops bleeding much more quickly. If you suffer from any sort of vascular disease, I would recommend giving this a try. My only complaint about this product is that it appears to be derived from corn. There are other good brands like Solaray and Country Life that’s rutin is from Japanese pagoda bud, which is what I take now, and prefer.

This is a very good supplement that I have used for a few years now to especially enhance my vascular system when it comes to haemarrhoid health. I believe it works well for me and this purpose particularly.
