Does it have a screw on lid?

No it has a push fit lid , it's a very good fit tho ! I've had mine a few weeks and no issues with leaks etc .

My dad works hard and often his tea is cold before he gets to drink it. Would this keep his tea hot for longer?

I bought this for my son to take to work with him. He said his drinks stay warm for up to an hour. If you need it to stay warm for longer it maybe better to look at thermos cups or flasks

Can you use this at coffee shops such as Costa and Starbucks?

Yes you can use it at coffee shops. If you prefer a drinks flask with a screw top this doors not have one. It is a push on cap. Over time mind has lost its suction and does not sit on correctly. I would advise you to look at other flasks as this is not the best flask to buy.
