Does the front pocket have a zip as well or is it just poppers/buckles. I just like having a semi secure front pocket for semi valubles

Hi Taya The front outside pocket uses poppers/buckles to hold it closed. There is no zip. (The only zipped pocket is the one sewn inside the bag. And is only accessible when the bag is open.) Hope this helps.

How big are the side pockets please, would it fit a 500ml waterbottle?

Hi not near the bag to measure pockets at present but don't think a 500 ml bottle would fit. I get my phone in there or my purse but not long enough for a bottle. But I do love this bag. Well made & looks good.
