Good Grips 3-In-1 Avocado Slicer - White

After cutting my finger very badly (using an extremely sharp knife) whilst trying to de-stone an avocado and followed by a trip to A&E, the doctor recommended I purchase this kitchen implement. I wish I had purchased this item years ago. It's very SAFE and extremely easy to use, and it will not cut you. You can use it to half the fruit, de-stone it without touching the stone with your fingers and it will assist with the removal of the avocado flesh. There are other (cheaper) makes on the market, but OXO products are well made. You get what you pay for. Highly recommended product.

Absolutely love this gadget - without doubt the best gadget I’ve ever bought . Very part of it does exactly as described . The “knife” section easily cuts the avocado skin, the stone remover is just amazing ! Every single time it takes out the Stoke effortlessly (unlike all the slip sliding and gouging that normally happens) and the slicer removes the flesh in gorgeous, straight to the plate, slices . It was always such a faff with avocados that I didn’t bother with them much - now Im using them all the time (instead of buying the prepacked pre-smashed avocado from the supermarket ) - no waste , cheaper and no plastic packaging. If you like / eat avocados then you NEED this tool I put in the dishwasher for easy cleaning

Good .. cuts open well , picks stone out ok but a bit messy with the slicing bit .. maybe a bit more practice !

I bought this for a friend for Christmas as I already have one. At my age, I've learned that a lot of gadgets are money-and-space-wasters; not this one, it's a boon. Slice around the avocado with the crinkly plastic blade, split the fruit open, press the metal-spiked dome firmly over the stone slight twist and it lifts away. Then use the 'grille' end to scoop out neat slices. Rinse the tool and bung it in dishwasher..so easy. I love avocado but used to be put off having them as they were so awkward and messy to prepare, not any more! Highly recommended.

After two avocado de-stoning related incidents nearly a year apart which resulted in visits to the minor injuries clinic both times I bought myself one of these before I ended up doing any serious harm. I really wish I had done it sooner as it is so easy to use, cuts the avocado in half easily, makes stone removal super easy and the cut and scoop aspect means I always get even slices - perfect finger food for my toddler! And all without a sharp knife in sight. Only downside is the dishwasher doesn't always get the slicer fully clean, but a quick rinse to get bits off straight after using and it usually comes out clean. Well worth the money if you're a little clumsy like me!

I have always used a knife to disect avocado but thought to give this kitchen tool a try-out as a safer method of cutting avocado. This kitchen implement achieved two out of the three aims of the slicer. Firstly, it sliced through the skin of the avocado perfectly with the plastic edged knife. Secondly, it removed the large stone with no fuss. However, I was not so successful with the third method of removing avocado from skin to salad bowl. True, there was no waste as all the fruit managed to find its way into the salad bowl but it did not slice cleanly and to be honest, looked a bit of a floppy mess, with the partially cut slices sticking together! I am not sure if it is a case of practise makes perfect or luck. Only time will tell. It cleaned up brilliantly in the dishwasher. All in all, this is a very good product but when it comes to avocado presentation I am not as impressed!

I use this almost every day BUT only the pitter tbh (so, 3/5 stars). I really don't like how the slicer cuts my avocado. Not sure if it's just my technique but the slices just don't come out neatly like in the video at all, and even more annoying when you have avocados of different ripeness. Once it almost came out mushy, when it was a perfectly good avocado. Now I would rather spoon out my avocado and cut it myself rather than using the tool. Since I slice it myself I have to use a separate knife anyway so I don't use the built in plastic knife tool either! Still good for the pitter but I just wish they had a smaller single pitter tool instead of this three piece nonsense.

I make guacamole every week. Cutting, deseeding, scooping avocados can be tedious. I thought this looked gimmicky, but took the gamble because of the great reviews. Wow, who thought this would be so effective! The blade is safe enough to touch with your finger, but cuts through avocados with ease. I was shocked that it works as well as any other sharp knife. The seed puller is probably my favorite part as it makes seed removal a breeze. Just tap firmly over the seed, twist and pop it out. Comes out easily without wasting any sticky avocado bits. Lastly the scooper works amazingly well too on avocados of all sizes. It scoops and slices at the same time and is easier to use than a spoon for sure. Great for salads or anything really. All in all, this little device has greatly exceeded my expectations and replaced 2-3 different tools. Just rinse it off when finished and stash it away again. It's really simplified at least one tedious kitchen workflow.

So simpel und doch so effektiv! Ich kann wirklich nichts Schlechtes über diesen Helfer sagen, ausser, dass man das natürlich auch alles mit einem normalen Messer usw. machen kann. Allerdings geht es mit diesem 3-in-1 Tool einfach viel schneller und macht mehr Spaß. Mit dem Kunststoffmesser die reife Avocado rund herum einschneiden, mit dem mittleren Teil den Kern "einklemmen" und rausdrehen und als letztes einfach den "Eierschneider" ansetzen und durch die Avocado ziehen. Schöne gleichmässige Scheiben. Wenn man lieber klein Rechtecke hätte, dann einfach nochmal den "Eierschneider" von der breiten Seite durch die Avocado ziehen und schon hat man kleinere Eckchen. Es geht auch super schnell zu reinigen, einfach unter fließendem Wasser Abwaschen. Der Helfer von OXO liegt gut in der Hand, hat keine scharfen Kanten und ist wertig verarbeitet. Ich bin eh der Meinung, dass OXO sehr gute Küchenhelfer herstellt. Ich liebe das Ding. Wer viel und gerne Avocado isst, der sollte es ausprobieren.
