I purchased this lamp as a touch lamp ,do you have to use the switch.

Is the lamp made from Metal or Plastic resin?

The lamp base is made of metal and it is light in weight but durable. I can recommend these lamps and was very pleased with them (I bought two.) They are at a good price and a good quality. I also like the fact that they have been made in Britain.

Can someone please tell me the height from the base to the top of the brass part/bottom of the shade?

It's 39 cm from the bottom of the base to the top of the light fitting that holds the bulb ( this is plastic, not brass) and 29 cm from the bottom of the base to the bottom (lower edge ) of the shade. Hope this helps.
