Can this be used to wash hands as an alternative to soap

Yes. I use it regularly as I have contact dermatitis whenever I use soap containing perfume. It is an emollient and was recommended to me by the Skin Hospital.

The description states it a cream then in the next paragraph its a bath oil. Just what is it?

this one is a cream that you use as a soap substitute. it's not a bath oil.

I'm trying to get rid of tanned arms, after using lemon & honey .. Will using this after help wash it off easier then going in the shower?

I very much doubt it as it helps to moisturise dry skin. A one off use of something like Fairy Liquid would probably do netter. If it has gone into the skin then it will just be a question of tome.
