Limitless - Season 1 [DVD] [2015]

It's a crying shame this only lasted one season.
Can't quite put t into words how much I love this show, it's like nothing I've seen before. It takes the premise of the film, incorporates it all into the story and builds a brilliant new world about it.It takes some brave steps and shoots its shots while hardly ever missing a beat. Some of the episodes are genius, the episode "Cuddled to Death" with its Serial Hugger charm? Sheer chefs kiss of the TV world. It always amaze and sadden me that this show wasn't given more of a chance given some of the other dross that is copy and pasted each year.A true gem of a show.

Can't stop rewatching this awesome series
Call me obsessed or something but I love this series do much I must have watched 8 times already. The movie left a lot threads open and this series picked them up and ran with them brilliantly. The characters make the show. Brian Finch is my favourite lead actor in a TV series since Walter White. Jake McDorman plays the 28-year old loser turned legend in a compelling and cool way. Jennifer Carpenter is the perfect female lead and of course the cameos by Bradley Cooper are excellent. The writing is fresh, the storylines creative and the acting engaging so what on Earth possessed CBS to cancel it?I am cautiously optimistic of a second series at some point - there are still some intriguing questions that remain after this series. What now for Brian Finch? His relationship with Senator Morra? The CJC?

HERE MUCH OF WORTH IS NEEDLESSLY FLAWED
Yet another series about law officials indebted to someone with extraordinary powers. For most, the pill NZT-48 has alarming, even fatal, side-effects. Brian Finch (JAKE McDorman) is immune - provided he receives regular boosters. With every part of his brain fully functional, he helps the FBI to solve cases in record time. Result? 22 episodes of high speed fun and excitement, occasionally with matters serious and sad.Not everything works, but a lot does: enjoyable performances; several intriguing cases; a plethora of in-jokes. Then there are Brian's hilarious visual aids to help overwhelmed colleagues understand what he is on about. Great. With so much to applaud, why only three stars? Actually I almost gave two. Throughout it is as though a saboteur has been at work. From the start I was driven to distraction by the relentless music track (the term "music" used loosely). Especially infuriating is when it accompanies key moments of explanation, people confiding in hushed voices, etc. What a relief when it ceases, if only for a minute or two! I was tempted to give up, jettison the box set, but realized this would mean missing out on much deserving attention.Interesting bonuses include a feature on how the series evolved from the film. (The film's star, Bradley Cooper, is also heavily involved here.) Fascinating revelations include how Jennifer Carpenter (Rebecca) was seven and a half months pregnant during the filming of the pilot. (Sharp-eyed viewers will have recognized her as serial killer Dexter's sister.)The series was axed, but a dramatic two part finale ends everything well enough..

Hugely entertaining!
This is one of the best TV series I've ever seen. Great story, engaging characters, witty, clever, visually inventive, funny and dramatic - can't recommend it highly enough (and am recommending it to all my friends).I'm amazed that no Season 2 was immediately produced, although I gather there are some talks ongoing with Amazon Prime - but, unusually for TV series these days, Season 1 does have a satisfying conclusion to its main arc and although there's clear potential for the story to continue, I wasn't left at the end feeling as though I'd been cheated into watching a story without a proper ending.I'd give it ten stars if I could.

Highly watchable.
Had never heard of the film but loved this series. 22 Episodes were a treat at teatime. No swearing/no sex - ok for most family viewing although series is based on Hero taking mind enhancing drug on regular basis to help law enforcement in US- so use own judgement. Each episode ended on a cliffhanger. Unsure if they will make a 2nd series but hope they do.
