IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitor Speaker, Black

I was skeptical about buying something that are seemingly this tiny, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that my skepticism was ill founded. These monitors are absolutely amazing, it is hard to imagine that these little things are able to create such a loud and clear sound signature. Lows are present, not muddy but not earth shattering 4/5 Mids are full and warm, very welcoming yet tight 5/5 Highs are amazing, the details are preserved yet there is zero sibilance, just the right amount of sparkle 5/5 I use these for everything, from monitoring, to critical listening to running a processor and playing my guitar thru. These are also sturdy and very well made, I've travelled with them, chucked them in a bag and forgotten about them, they have gather a few scuffs and scratches but the sound remains as good as day one. Setup is easy, basic plug and play, the Bluetooth feature is extremely handy, I've pulled these out in small parties and have had a blast, the versatility is unmatched, the size to performance ratio is insane. The iLouds were an excellent find, they have eliminated the need to any keep any other pair of speakers I've had in my life, I've gotten rid of every bluetooth speaker I've had, these are the once source of truth for me.

Did not expect them to look or sound this good. They are great for a small desk with limited space, they look super premium and sound amazing! I was kindof skeptical when I ordered them but now that I have them in-front of me I can say that they are fantastic for the price. And the bluetooth is super useful!

UPDATE after 18 months: for best audio, you MUST USE the 3.5mm audio jack. Watching movies via Bluetooth makes voices unnaturally quiet, and I had to re-watch all Marvel movies and Tenet as a lot of the atmosphere was lost due to a mushy sound scape. My 3rd iLoud Micro Monitor pair started to produce crackling - similar to an LP on standby - noises after 7 months of daily use (around 25% volume and mix use via 3.5mm and Bluetooth) during standby and play, and the manufacturer MK Audio was not helpful: neither responsive via call, chat or email. Amazon provided a partical refund which was a bit disappointing overall. Issue: ~13-14h/day of direct sunlight through double glazed windows damaged the electronics VERDICT: Heavenly sound for such tiny speakers as long as they work 1 of 3 pairs failed after 7 months. My £100 Teufel Concept B20 (twice the size) and Bose Companion 20 (same price) sound like cheap plastic boxes without bass in comparison, and the latter were the best or the price range back in 2011 along with Creative T40 Gen2. Biggest issue: loud hissing/buzzing noise when 3.5mm cable connected and source is either off or not attached, and the speakers make a loud cracking sound (either on the left or right) when you turn off your wire connected source device or cut the electricity. Hissing starts as soon as you connect the 3.5mm cable even if no source is attached. - Loud "pop" noise when you turn the 3.5mm wire connected source off - Only 1 dial for audio volume, not for tone (Teufel Concept B20 allowed you to switch from bass boost, to neutral and high frequency boost) - No information what Bluetooth generation is supports (the speaker was released in Jan 2016), but compatible with A2DP protocol, basically a third of the audio quality of CD, but still sufficient for my needs - Awful name "iLoud" from the 2005 iPod era - Questionable after sales support from manufacturer, so better reach out to Amazon within warranty window

These are quite miraculous speakers, very tiny in size with a small footprint but they sound almost the same as larger bookshelf speakers paired with a sub! They are very detailed. It's not body shaking bass at all but it's still very rich, controlled bass. They're still breaking in but it looks like they will go very loud too based on the gain and volume settings used so far. They consume 5W at idle and 5-7W in use at medium volume. The left speaker contains the class D amp and gets slightly warm, the power supply remains cold. It'd be nice if the power consumption was less whilst they were doing nothing (standby). I'm using them on a standup conversion desk next to my monitor as their little footprint was the only option. Cons: Hums at the higher gain levels especially above the middle setting, but luckily these are not needed as even just my laptop outputs plenty of signal and volume at around 1/4 or less. A bit disappointing to see, and it makes the gain knob completely pointless really, no one spends this much to listen to humming. Please note this is with no device connected, it is not a ground loop hum so it seems to be an issue in the device itself. Non removable speaker grills, which impacts the cosmetics and the audio slightly. Apparently for portability, but I won't be moving these around which I'm sure most customers wouldn't be. Reports of bad rattles over time, hopefully I do not get this, I will update my review if I do.

The only thing I would say is if you are going to use these in a dark room. Get the black ones instead. The LED is very bright, and even if you block it, it will shine through the white plastic.

Dzis je otrzymalem i rozpakowalem i podlaczylem do pc przez bluetooth.. graja pieknie i mieszcza sie na najmniejszym biurku z ikei :D Za ~1050 zl sa przewspaniale i ciesza dzwiekiem, az napisalem swoja pierwsza recenzje na amazonie ;) I zaraz zwracam niby porzadny sound bar od creative, ktory ma wstretny dzwiek :) Te male cuda daja radosc sluchania. Regulacja ustawienia w podstawce bardzo przydatna. EDIT: Jak kazde aktywne kolumny (z zasilaniem) wydaja siebie przy braku sygnalu delikatny minimalny syk. Jezeli on przeszkadza niestety trzeba juz wskoczyc na polke 2x cenowo wyzej oraz w wiekszy rozmiar. Ja pozostaje przy iLoudach :)

These may look small but are two powerful set of monitors. Sound quality is maybe not that flat but there is value for money. You may go for it.

Impresionante sonido para su tamaño. Balanceado con graves que llegan a 45 hz. La construcción es solida excepto el interruptor de encendido, que tiene juego.
