Does it come with a meat temperature manual

No Sir, it just comes with a basic instructions leaflet. But you can easily find meat temperature charts online, for example: https://www.everdurebyheston.co.uk/cooking_tips_details/all/internal_cooking_temperatures

Can I use it to test the pool water?

No idea on that we use it on food, but I suppose you can. It checks temp so it should. I have just checked it in glass of warm and it read 34deg, then I put it in the freezer and it went down to zero. So it will cover all that range. Hope this helps

Hello, The probe itself is, but the rest of the unit is not. Thanks, ThermoPro

Can this be used for cakes

I use mine to prod my cakes instead of a skewer. If it comes out clean, then it's cooked.
