It's a okay
I think microwave kiln is good for fusing glass. I bought it with hope to use it for my cloisonne enameling, but for cloisonne enamel it is not suitable.

Love the kiln it came same day of purchase . It was even greater than i expected and well worth the money. It was packaged with great care and so I would highly recommend this seller.

impossible to use properly
i was so excited about this little kiln but unfortunately it fails on so many fronts. the supplied cutter was useless, the gloves are equally so but the biggest disappointment is the kiln. it heats unevenly and can't be relied upon. it can't be timed as the heat retention has repeatedly decreased with each use - the first heating took 5 minutes to slump, the second 12, the third 18 etc. to make matters worse, at 18 minutes, one half of the glass was overfused whilst the other hadn't slumped at all!i feel as if i have wasted my money. i simply couldn't recomend this to any one.

I wouldn't have bought it with the 'kit'........
Although an experienced designer and maker of jewellery, I am new to glasswork and so I bought this 'kit' version to provide me with some stuff to experiment with as well as the kiln before committing to a 'proper' kiln. Delivery was as quick as expected and everything seemed to be in order, except for a couple of chips at the edges of the base. I didn't worry about these as they didn't impact on the firing chamber.Good points:The size was a great fit for my hobby microwave which is 25ltr and 900w.The internal firing area suited my work, most of which will fit comfortably onto a 10cm x 10cm piece of kiln paper.Bad points:The kiln does not come close to fusing glass in any reasonable time frame. My first attempt using one of the supplied sheets and a few of the millifiore and plain 'buttons' took 45 minutes, although I should say that I was using incremental timing starting from 5 mins then 10 mins, 15 mins and another 15 mins so that I could judge just how long the piece would take to fuse by checking the kiln after each burst of microwaves. My second trial was done using just five of the supplied plain glass 'buttons' which took 30 mins to achieve the 'orange glow' and to properly form small cabochons. I think it's worth noting that the supplied kiln paper never did become the suggested dark colour but remained a kind of toffee shadeThe outside of the kiln itself becomes much hotter than was expected from the listing. As advised, I did remove the turntable glass and support ring but the piece which revolved the turntable couldn't be removed and so I used a ceramic 'kiln safe' dish to cover it and to provide a stable surface for the kiln. Unfortunately, on the third trial the external heat was so great after 5 mins that the piece I had protected melted, oozed out from under the ceramic 'protector', bursting into flames. Fortunately, no serious damage done as I was watching carefully during the process. I must take responsibility for this as I had heard what would turn out to be the ceramic protector cracking but I chose not to check it immediately as the process hadn't been running for more than a couple of minutes, but it is something to be aware of.No instructions, although it is quite easy to find some online. The rest of the bad points relate to the included 'kit'. There is no indication of the coefficient of expansion (COE) number(s) for the supplied glass samples which is extraordinary as it is recommended that glass of different COE should not be mixed as the piece is liable to break or shatter during the firing. This did happen to my first trial which cracked into two parts, one of which was blown off the kiln paper by the force of the split. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this kiln for a beginner like myself. It requires much more care and attention than may be suggested by the listing and, even though I took on board 'warnings' from online forums and made best attempts to make it work, I still had to use longer timings than I would have expected and, of course, I did ruin my microwave in the process.I think that this may have made a good test kiln for someone with good experience of kiln work if the suggested firing times had been achievable, but in real terms I don't think they can. It may still be useful for someone who uses a larger floor-standing kiln, but for someone like me who only needs a small tabletop kiln it probably would be better to invest in an electric model.

Good starter kit
Good starter kit although was disappointed having received it to then find I needed to purchase and apply kiln wash before use. Other than that a great hobby

Great item, quality of some parts of the kit not good
Overall this worked really well in a 800w flat bottom microwave. The gloves, brush and glass cutter were terrible quality so I replaced these. No instructions provided, but a quick youtube search will give you all the details you need.
