My current alarms are kidde model 0916ll. what new models should i buy that will fit the current housings?

The i9060 is the latest version of the 0916LL. We have never sold the 0916LL though as it is quite old and you will more than likely need to replace the mounting bracket which is supplied with the i9060. The i9060 is 124mm in diameter, hope that helps.

Anyone know if this alarm unit fits the previous model’s housing?

You will need to provide a model number of the previous version, as the current version has not changed since we have been trading. The diameter of the mounting plate on this alarm is 101mm and distance between the screw holes is 60mm from the centre of each hole.

what is the on off switch for on the alarm for, it's not mentioned in the instructions

The switch is there to ensure it’s OFF before it’s mounted.When mounting the alarm body, the rotation action will allow a projection on the mounting plate to move the switch to the ON position as it locks into place. You can then do the checks Rgds Gerry
