Having chipped a temporary crown which caused some sensitivity with the exposed tooth underneath, a quick google came across a product called Dentist Wax. Having tried two chemists and a dentist and not being able to find some, turned to Amazon as always. Arrived pre noon next day as requested. Followed a couple of peoples advise regards rolling and warming a small pieces up before placing it. And after a couple of tries, getting the right amount and moulding it in, a nice secure seal on my tooth allowing me to eat and drink fairly normally, although avoiding that side where possible. Obviously had to replace it after eating, as it doesn't set hard, remains mouldable which is not a bad thing as you can adjust if you find you havn't got it quite right. A piece stayed in perfectly overnight, came out easily when cleaning teeth, and then put another piece in this morning. So would recommend this to anyone needing an easy little fix until you can see a dentist. Perfect product for this... And loads left, although hoping wont be needed!

WAXING WITHOUT THE PAIN Normally when you think of waxing, it is a painful experience with the removal of ...hair. Thank AMAZON that wax has other uses. Dental wax may seem simple enough, like a candle. The difference is its ability to be safely used in the mouth for those of use with braces. It's a cheek saver. I kept on trying to go without using it, but after a couple of work days when talking, the shredding of my inner cheeks and accompanying pain can become too much. HOW DOES IT WORK, HOW TO PUT IT ON In the box, the wax is cold, so is more firm. Take a half-pea size between your fingers, then work it by rolling the fingers. It will soon become warmer, more malleable and easier to apply. Identify the area on the brace that is rubbing against cheeks or lips and push on, then smooth out. If you have not worked with it enough, softening the wax, it will be difficult to mould around the bracket (the part glued to the tooth). If soft enough, it should easily cover the bracket and onto the metal brace. Shortly, it will harden. As wax has a smooth low friction surface, it removes the catching of tissue or scratching against the cheek. For good hygiene, remove the wax at the end of the day or when you can give your mouth a rest. This is easily done with a tooth brush. LOOK Yes - it looks awkward on the mouth, but I have not found a way to make it look any better. It is functional and works as good as any supplied by the orthodontist. I would avoid coloured ones unless you want a rainbow mouth. EFFECT ON BRACES There is no detrimental effect on the efficacy of the braces. Braces work over a long term low grade pressure on receptors in the mouth. Wax does not affect the mechanism of action. Downside is applying frequently, which changes each time the braces are replaced. SELLER Cheap, effective and arrived quickly with standard delivery, without needing to have anyone receive it.

More difficult to use than the wax from my orthodontist, so soft that it went straight through the wire parts of my braces. I was on holiday when I stared using it but found a local orthodontist who were happy to sell me some of theirs only £1 a box. It does work if you can get it to stay in the right place.

Very pleased with this wax and I have bought it on more than one occasion. The best way to use it is to warm it up a little first. Either by rolling it between your fingers or by keeping it in your pocket prior to use. It is usually advised that you dry the area before placing the wax on, but I haven’t found this necessary with this wax; simply just swallowing any excess saliva has always been fine. The wax is easy to build up, so if you only want a little wax on one that’s fine, but if you want loads on another, such as the wires at the back, then it is easy to build up. They come nicely packaged in little containers, so they are easy to store in your handbag or pocket. Overall, I would recommend anyone with braces to buy these.

Non seulement celle-ci est moins chère, mais elle est surtout nettement meilleure : plus souple donc plus facile à malaxer, elle se fixe aussi bien que les autres sur les taquets de l'appareil et tient bien. Bonus, pas de goût bizarre ni mentholé. Bon, la boite n'est pas la plus pratique à ouvrir, mais je recommande fortement et je rachèterai ce produit.

Nachdem meine kleine eine Spange zum Kieferweiten bekommen hat, hatte sie Schmerzen durch das reiben innen an der Backe. Nach einer Empfehlung haben wir das Wachs geholt und nachdem sie es an den Stellen fest gemacht hat wo es rieb hatte sie keine Probleme mehr. Meine kleine ist 10 Jahre alt und bekommt es selbst hin.
