Senner MusicPro - Reusable Hearing Protection Earplugs for Concert, Festival, Music and Club with Aluminium Container, Especially Light Ear Protectors to wear

I'm a dog walker and have to transport dogs in cages in my van to and from parks and open spaces. A few of the dogs are barkers - annoying collie and Westie barks that go through you. I had tried spray collars and vibration collars - fine if you've only one barker in the van as that one then goes quiet when the spray or vibrate activates. Good training. More than one barker in the van? This becomes an issue as whichever one barks sets off all the anti-bark devices! Bad training. That doesn't achieve anything as a number of dogs being submitted to a spray or vibration for no good reason! I needed something that would dull the level of noise from the barking dogs without stopping me from being able to hear sirens and the like. The Senner MusicPro is a reasonable price, reduces the volume and dulls the sensation of the barking but doesn't block out all sound entirely - can still listen to the radio and chat with a passenger. The Senner is basically an earplug that is suitable for music concerts, festivals, firework displays and the like if you want to protect your hearing. Nice little carrier to clip on a bag or lanyard, two sets of plugs (standard and small) so you can decide which is best fit and one set of filters - a wee bit fiddly to get them off the standard plugs and onto the smaller ones but be patient as it's worth doing. Are comfortable to wear but wouldn't necessarily use them for sleeping.

Probably too many years attending concerts by Deep Purple, Whitesnake and Hawkwind have taken their toll on my hearing but with a series of big concerts coming up I decided to try these ear plugs, even though they appear a tad expensive. I used them for Coldplay in Cardiff and can say that they work well. They were comfortable and did take the edge off the sound without distortion or any loss of sound clarity. I think traditional ear plugs muffle the sound too much - these didn't and I was left with no ringing in the ears after a two hour assault from the marvellous Chris Martin and his mates. So all is positive thus far. The downside is that they are really small and I fear losing one and they are really difficult to get out of the ear once they've been fully inserted. I think if the little tab, presumably used to help insert and remove, was bigger then they would be more user friendly. Next challenge is how they fare at a big open air festival. WOMAD music festival and they worked a treat. I like to watch from the front but that usually means ringing ears or muffled sound through traditional ear plugs. This year, perfect sound right at the front - these worked a treat, so I've upped the stars to 5. Can they cope with the mighty Deep Purple in November? Just realised I hadn't updated after watching the mighty Purple at Birmingham and Cardiff. The ear plugs worked a treat, taking the edge off the volume of the band who were once named the loudest in the world, without diminishing the power of the performance. And they worked well for front row Glenn Hughes at Bristol. Highly recommended!

So far I have only ever used Alpine MusicSafePro plugs with mostly the silver filter. I go to lots of metal gigs and so clarity and definition of sound is crucial otherwise it all sounds absolutely terrible. All those guitars and vocals occupying the same frequency spectrum is a challenge especially at high SPLs. The Alpines are great for protection but the sound is not great, very low mid heavy, they tend to leave around the 150-400Hz range relatively untouched which makes for a very "woolly", "honky" undefined sound that masks all detail for guitars and vocals. On to the Senners. The thing with these is that when they are difficult to insert properly. I have a feeling that any review 3 stars or lower that complains about sound quality and isolation has DEFINITELY not inserted these correctly properly as they are difficult. When you succeed in inserting these they sit very deep in your ear canal and so you get this vacuum suction type feeling which is weird but holy hell the sound is insanely good. With these filters, you can hear literally everything in the mix and concentrate on each instrument if you want to, which is mad. I have never been able to do that at a gig. Needless to say I had no ringing walking out of the gig. Perfect. The reason these get 4 stars is that whenever you smile, shout, sing, laugh etc. your ear canal flexes and makes these plugs lose their vacuum "grip" and first you feel them slip out very slightly and you return to the Alpine woolly and honky sound. So you push them back in again and you return to the amazing sound quality. This was my night, repeatedly pushing these back in (mostly in the left ear but that's just my head). I think this slippage may be due to the material these are made of, they are transparent glossy silicon which is high quality but does not "grip" the skin of your inner ear as well as the matte, porous texture of the Alpines. I suspect that if these were made out of the same material as the Alpines they might stay deep for longer. Alas my quest continues (I think ill bite the bullet and go with custom molds eventually) however when these are inserted properly they sound incredible. Also Amazon supplied the wrong case but hey ho...

Good product

These earplugs do block out sound well and possibly somewhat don't destroy the quality of the music too much. The problem for me who likes techno raves, is that they block out too much sound. Surely I could get the ''soft'' version, but assumingly they also block out the sound very well. With the Pro version I couldn't get any thrill from listening at all. It felt almost like hearing the music from outside the building and as a result it felt strange to me and there was not much joy left in partying. What I'm interested in are some that only block out a few decibel of the very loudest sounds. Of course that will not make for a bullet proof protection, but the problem is that a lot of ravers will not wear any hearing protection at all as a result. I'd advice Senner or any competitor to make an extra light version. That way everyone can get to choose some level of hearing protection which will only highten the overall level of safety.

I recently went to a Wayward sons gig, which if your looking for some great rock music to listen too, is well worth buying. I did however come away with some hearing issues, ringing for 2 days afterwards. Not great. I went looking for some ear plugs which would still allow me to listen to performances but protect my hearing. These had some of the best reviews on Amazon, they are reasonably priced and also come with 2 sizes of plugs. I bought a set for myself and my wife and though only trying them out at home with music I can confirm that sounds are still clear. They are quite comfortable and feel very secure when inserted. I look forward to trying them out in anger when we see the Scorpions later in the year. UPDATE.. My wife and I both used these at the 02 for a scorpions and Megadeth concert. We wore these for over 5 hours for 3 bands. We can confirm they are very comfortable and offered great ear protection. We could hear the band's very clearly with no distortion to sound quality. Very pleased with this purchase.

I found these really effective at a recent Stereophonics concert in Newcastle. Twice previously I have been unable to enjoy the concert properly after a loud opening number. The Newcastle Metro Radio Arena volume is louder for this band than any other I have been to there, so it was try these or stop going, which would have been a shame as this band are fabulous live. I found these earplugs really effective. I started with them fully in but found they did the job so effectively, I wasn't quite connecting with the live music, so on most numbers, and when Kelly Jones was talking, I just lifted them out slightly and let them rest in my ear canals. This still protected my ears whilst letting me enjoy the live music experience, without worrying about damage to my hearing. If a particularly loud number came on I just pushed them in until it felt the right level of protection. I was left with minimal disturbance to my hearing using this technique, whereas normally I have a sound like golf balls going around in a tumble dryer from the first number until some time after the concert ends. I also used them when I flew recently as I get terrible pain in my left ear on the descent to landing, and they were effective here too.This was an added bonus, but you need to make sure you get them in early enough, before the plane begins to descend. Putting them in was easy once I became confident, as I found I was pushing them into my ear canals in completely different directions, which felt strange but is obviously a quirk about me not the ear plugs. I did wonder if I should have ordered a smaller version as I couldn't get them in far at all, but I have been told by health professionals that I have small ear canals, so bear this in mind if you are purchasing for someone who is smaller than average earwise. I found the instructions very limited as there is, what I assume to be, a spare set of plugs, but you have to work out how to change the inserts over yourself. I also couldn't tell if these were the same size or an alternate size, but they looked about the same so probably just a spare pair. I think the initial expense of these earplugs is worth it to manage the noise levels at concerts, as you can re-use the plugs and then have spares, and can additionally use for flights too if needed.

As I moved to a city with a better offer of concerts, I took my chance and went to a few. Most of them I went out of the venue with a bit of hearing difficulty but nothing to worry about... Until I went to a black metal concert and I was too close to the speaker. My ears were ringing for 3 full days, the next day to the concert have actual trouble to clearly hear what people said to me, which was awful considering I had to deliver some sessions and had to asked assistants to ask twice as I moved closer to them in order to hear them. I simply could not afford this to happen again, so had a look over here and these were highly rated. I first tested at home and noticed right away how comfortable the earplugs are, they sit tightly inside your ears and do not bother at all. Tested a bit with my headphones and noticed they were muffling the sound but keeping it almost at the same quality, except the highs, which started to sound clearly more recessed than lows and mids. Talking with people I could still hear them clearly as well, though not as loud as I should. So another concert time, sludge metal this time. It was fairly good, again, while mids and lows sounded fine, highs did take a hit and sounded worse than without the earplugs. The earplugs indeed take away from the concert experience and that is the reason I'm not rating the five stars. I guess otherwise is impossible, but well, it is what it is. I will keep on using them, as I had a little bit of ringing when leaving the theater but nothing major, next day I was listening as always with no ringing at all and that is extremely nice. As well, being able to communicate with someone during the concert was close to impossible with them on, even between songs, as I had to briefly take them off. As well, I would recommend to take them off during your favorite tunes to fully enjoy those as intended. Lastly, beware who you buy this from! I bought this item twice, second with Senner themselves as I felt the first could had not been genuine, which seemed to be the case. Hats off to Amazon Customer Service, as they refund me the money of my first buy.

Musikliebhaber kennen das Problem: Die Lautstärke auf Konzerten & Co. ist einfach zu laut, doch klassische Ohrstöpsel verfälschen den Klang zu stark. Nicht so die Senner MusicPro, mit denen ich sehr zufrieden bin: sie dämpfen die Musik ziemlich linear über alle Frequenzen ab, wodurch die Musik insgesamt leiser wird (SNR = Single Number Rating 21 dB), aber nicht dumpf oder anderweitig stark verzerrt. Im Einzelnen: ----- Klang ----- Ich war bereits Besitzer von normalen Ohrstöpseln (Ohropax soft) und Hi-Fi-Ohrstöpseln von Alpine (MusicSafe pro, hier: mit goldenem Filtereinsatz (SNR 18)). Da letztere schon ziemlich gut, aber noch nicht perfekt sind, habe ich mir nun auch noch die Senner MusicPro geleistet, und kann damit meine drei Stöpselarten mal direkt vergleichen: Hörtest und Vergleich: Als erstes unterzog ich all meine Stöpsel mal einem Hörtest, wie sie auf mehreren Online-Seiten zu finden sind (siehe Google-Begriffe wie "University of New South Wales, Hearing Test Online, Audiogram, Audiocheck"). Dazu stellte ich fest, bei welcher Lautstärke in dB ich einen Ton einer bestimmten Frequenz ganz normal ohne Ohrstöpsel gerade noch hören kann. Danach wiederholte ich den Versuch mit mehreren Ohrstöpseln und notierte, um wieviel dB ich die Lautstärke erhöhen muss, damit ich den Ton auch durch die Stöpsel hindurch hören kann. So musste ich z.B. mit den Senner-Ohrstöpseln einen 30 Hz-Ton um 21 dB erhöhen, damit ich ihn durch die Ohrstöpsel hören kann; bei den Alpine musste ich den Ton 18 dB lauter stellen, und bei den Schaumstoffstöpseln nur 8 dB. Frequenz (Hz): 30 | 60 | 125 | 250 | 500 | 1000 | 2000 | 4000 | 8000 Senner MusicPro: -21 | -17 | -15 | -12 | -12 | -12 | -21 | -18 | -17 Alpine (gold): -18 | -15 | -16 | -12 | -13 | -12 | -21 | -17 | -24 Schaumstoff: -8 | -8 | -9 | -13 | -15 | -9 | -22 | -32 | -45 Das Ergebnis hat nichts mit normalen dB-Testergebnissen aus dem Labor zu tun, denn es geht nur um mein persönliches Hörempfinden zusammen mit meiner Soundkarte und meinem Kopfhörer und ist nicht direkt auf andere übertragbar. Der subjektive Vergleich der Hörschwelle mit/ohne Ohrstöpsel ist zwar eine mögliche Messmethode (REAT - Real Ear Attenuation at Threshold), müsste dann aber mit geeichten Soundquellen, mehreren Versuchspersonen etc. durchgeführt werden. Dennoch fand ich den Vergleich der drei verschiedenen Stöpsel untereinander ganz interessant, denn man sieht gut, dass die Schaumstoffstöpsel eher schlecht zum Musikhören sind: Sie dämpfen tiefe Frequenzen nur schlecht (8 dB) und hohe Frequenzen extrem gut (45 dB)... der Sound wird also ziemlich stark verzerrt und dumpf. Die Senner und Alpine-Stöpsel zeigen dagegen ein recht lineares Klangbild, was sich meist so zwischen 12-21 dB bewegt (wie gesagt, so genau ist meine Messmethode ja auch nicht), also den Klang zwar ein bisschen, aber nicht besonders stark verzerren. Rein subjektiv (nach dem Genuss von viel Musik und ständigem Ohrstöpselgewechsel) würde ich sagen, dass sowohl die Senner als auch die Alpine-Stöpsel den Sound merklich dämpfen, und dass sie zwar beide jeweils ein bisschen verzerren, aber die Soundqualität insgesamt gut bleibt... viel besser als bei den einfachen Schaumstoffstöpseln. Die Senner-Stöpsel scheinen noch eine Idee ausgewogener zu klingen (mehr Richtung Mitte bis Höhen), während die Alpine-Stöpsel ein klein wenig basslastiger sind, doch eigentlich klingen beide Stöpsel gut. Nicht perfekt, aber gut - viel besser als Schaumstoffstöpsel -, und man gewöhnt sich auch recht schnell an den Sound beider Stöpsel. Ich würde sagen: Wer schon Alpine-Stöpsel hat, braucht sich nur wegen des Klanges keine Senner-Stöpsel zu holen und umgekehrt. Aber wer noch keine HiFi-Stöpsel hat, dem würde ich vom Sound her vielleicht ein klein wenig mehr zu den Senner-Stöpseln raten... aber die Unterschiede sind da wirklich nicht so groß, man macht in jedem Fall nichts verkehrt. ----- Tragekomfort ----- Die Sennerstöpsel sind angenehm zu tragen auch über mehrere Stunden. Es entsteht kein Gefühl, von der Außenwelt abgeschnitten zu sein, so wie bei Schaumstoffstöpseln. Die großen Stöpsel ragten für meinen Geschmack etwas zu tief in den Gehörgang, aber nachdem ich den blauen Filter in die kleineren Stöpsel umgebaut hatte (eine Sache von ein paar Minuten), bin ich mit den kleinen sehr zufrieden. Die leicht aufgerauten Alpine-Stöpsel aus einem ThermoShape genannten Material finde ich noch einen Hauch angenehmer zu tragen als die ganz glatten, und dadurch leicht klebrig erscheinenden Sennerstöpsel aus Silikon, doch insgesamt lassen sich beide sehr gut einführen, entfernen, und über längere Zeit tragen. ----- äußerer Aufbau ----- Die durchsichtigen Stöpsel sind aus weichem Silikon und passen sich gut an. Der Filter besteht aus blauem durchsichtigen Hartplastik, doch der stört nicht weiter im Ohr. Im Loch in der Außenseite des Filters scheint ein hauchfeines Metallnetz zu sein. Wenn man durch das Loch in der Rückseite des Filters schaut, sieht man eine Art dünne Filtermembran, vermutlich aus durchsichtigem Plastik. Der Aufbewahrungsbehälter ist in verschiedenen Formen erhältlich. Ich würde zur breiten, kurzen Dose raten, da die Stöpsel wie angesprochen ein wenig klebrig sind: aus der dünnen, langen Dose bekommt man sie laut anderen Rezensionen nur schwer ohne Werkzeug wieder heraus. Mit der kurzen breiten Dose ist das hingegen kein Problem. Es gibt übrigens dutzende Anbieter auf europäischen oder der amerikanischen Amazon-Plattform oder Alibaba, die ähnlich aussehende Ohrstöpsel verkaufen. Die Vermutung liegt irgendwie nahe, dass die Stöpsel alle in China vom gleichen Fließband laufen, und nur die Aufbewahrungsboxen individuell anders bedruckt werden, doch sicher bin ich mir da nicht, ob sie vielleicht doch nur ähnlich aussehen, aber dann doch anders klingen. Ich habe mich letztendlich für die Stöpsel von Senner entschieden, da sie konkrete Angaben zum Dämpfungsverhalten durch ein deutsches Prüfinstitut machen (fehlt bei vielen Konkurrenten), da ich Stöpsel um 20 dB SNR wollte (Die blauen Filter der Senner haben 21 dB, wohingegen die andersfarbigen Filter der Konkurrenz auch andere Dämpfungswerte haben), da sie die Stöpsel in zwei verschiedenen Größen liefern (mir passen die kleinen besser), und da es letztendlich auch preislich keinen großen Unterschied macht, da alle Stöpselpaare ungefähr in dem hier gezeigten Preisbereich angeboten werden. Bei Großhändlern gibt es die pro Stück zwar billiger, aber wenn die Mindestabnahmemenge 500 Paar beträgt, nützt mir das auch nichts, denn ich habe ja nur zwei Ohren. Nachtrag: Die Senner-Stöpsel sind nun auch mit rotem und grünem Filter erhältlich. Diese unterscheiden sich in den Dämpfungswerten nicht von den blauen Filtern (SNR=20 dB) laut Anbieter, die Unterschiede seien demnach rein optisch. Bei anderen, ähnlich aussehenden Stöpseln aus China sollen die grünen Filter um 15 dB und die roten Filter um 27 dB dämpfen. Da dies laut Senner bei ihren neuen farbigen Filtern nicht so ist, scheinen diese Stöpsel also durchaus anders als andere Stöpsel zu sein, auch wenn sie optisch ähnlich aussehen. ----- Fazit ----- Ich bin mit den Stöpseln sehr zufrieden. Sie reduzieren Sounds gleichmäßig in der Lautstärke, ohne sie groß zu verzerren, und eignen sich damit sehr gut für Konzerte, laute Kinosääle und Ähnliches. Wer noch keine Hi-Fi-Ohrstöpsel hat, kann hier bedenkenlos zugreifen. Wer schon andere Hi-Fi-Stöpsel hat (wie ich mit meinen Alpines), für den ist der Kauf kein Muss, denn kein Stöpsel ist perfekt... aber die unterschiedlichen Stöpsel klingen auch jeweils leicht anders, und so kann man schon mal ausprobieren, was einem am besten gefällt. Ich würde sagen, diese hier klingen noch eine Idee neutraler als meine anderen Stöpsel. Zu beachten ist, dass diese Ohrstöpsel bewusst so ausgelegt sind, dass sie eine mittelmäßige Dämpfung haben, und noch einen Teil der Sounds durchlassen. Das ist wunderbar zum Musikhören, aber für wahnsinnige Lautstärken (Presslufthammer, Schusswaffen) oder wenn man möglichst gar nichts hören will (Schnarchen) sollte man zu Ohrstöpseln greifen, die noch stärker dämpfen als diese hier mit 21 dB SNR.

Che dire? Cercavo dei tappi così: MORBIDI, pratici e facili da usare. Più di 10 anni fa c'erano dei tappi della Speedo da nuoto in silicone morbidissimo che usavo per nuotare e per attenuare di molto i rumori...mai più ritrovati perché oggi ci sono in silicone duro che spacciano per morbido e fanno male quando li inserisci nelle orecchie e non isolano per niente. Per chi conosce QUEI tappi della Speedo di tanti anni fa(corpo blu ed estrattore giallo), questi ci vanno molto vicino e il vantaggio è che rimangono discreti non lanciando intravedere nulla all'esterno. Ho dei tappi insonorizzanti della 3M(tipo gommapiuma)che sono molto buoni per la musica spacca timpani, ma che dopo qualche secondo tendono a fuoriuscire dalle orecchie diventando molto antiestetici pur rimanendo nel condotto auricolare: la sensazione è quella di essere isolati dalla festa e ti chiedi come facciano le persone a ballare con una musica così bassa(sembra strano, ma un giusto livello di musica è essenziale per ballare...provate a farlo con un volume molto basso). Questi tappi evitano che vi si spacchino i timpani pur non facendovi sentire ovattati. Sono dei tappi molto buoni, ma si poteva fare qualcosa i più in termini di insonorizzazione...nel complesso è un buon acquisto ad un prezzo alto ed è indirizzato a chi vuole andare in discoteca tutelando la salute delle proprie orecchie senza rinunciare a divertirsi percependo l'ambiente circostante. Scordatevi di isolarvi totalmente da un partner che vi russa a fianco: con i tappi della 3M(per me i migliori in termini di insonorizzazione al momento) io riesco a sentire chi russa anche nella camera affianco.

Acheté avec une autre marque pour test à l'occasion du Hellfest 2019, je n'ai pas été déçu ! L'ensemble se compose des 2 filtres, 4 bouchons en plastique souple transparents (2 paires de tailles différentes pour s'adapter aux oreilles de chacun) et un étui de transport. Après avoir testé les bouchons les plus grands montés initialement avec les filtres, j'ai adapté les filtres sur les petits bouchons car cela me convenait mieux. La manipulation de changement des filtres n'est pas forcément intuitive (j'ai pensé au départ que j'allais déchirer les bouchons) mais il ne faut pas avoir peur de tirer un peu sur le plastique autour du filtre et cela se fait bien (manipulation à éviter en concert toutefois pour éviter de tout perdre). Côté utilisation, on met les bouchons très naturellement dans l'oreille et on les retire facilement grâce à une petite languette transparente. Quid de l'efficacité ? au final, assez bluffante. On pourrait penser que des bouchons, même avec filtre actif, vont sérieusement diminuer l'agrément musical, il n'en est rien, la musicalité reste très bonne et tout passe, les graves, médiums, aigues mais sans la "saturation" (ou "fouillis sonore") qui va généralement avec lors des concerts où la musique est trop forte. On a du coup l'impression d'avoir un son propre, comme nettoyé des imperfections, avec un volume sonore qui reste élevé mais sécurisant. Ma peur était surtout de savoir si j'allais les supporter longtemps dans l'oreille, en fait, je les ai portés pratiquement toute la journée et on les oublie très vite, d'autant qu'on peut facilement tenir une conversation avec à l'écart des scènes (pas besoin de les retirer). Testé sur des groupes divers lors de ma journée au Hellfest (métal prog, death metal, heavy metal, nu metal …) à distance "raisonnable" (sans être collé devant les colonnes d'enceintes, il ne faut pas tenter le diable non plus), je n'ai jamais ressenti de gêne au niveau sonore, ce qui, pour ce genre de festival, est presque une performance ! Si je devais vraiment chercher la petite bête, je dirai que l'étui de stockage, bien que pratique pour transporter les bouchons, est trop étroit ce qui fait qu'on galère pour en extraire les bouchons dont la matière colle quelque peu à la paroi de l'étui, mais on est là sur du détail. Au final, je suis reparti sans acouphène ni mal aux oreilles et avec la certitude que ces bouchons vont m'accompagner sur tous mes prochains concerts !

Los compré para ir a un concierto y la verdad es que he acabado usándolos en todos lados: en el bar, en el cine, en el coche del típico amigo al que le gusta ir con la música demasiado alta... Filtran todo el sonido por igual, parece que no llevas nada al principio, pero 19 dB es la diferencia entre salir de un sitio con zumbido en los oídos o no. En espacios cerrados con música muy alta, ayudan a disminuir el ruido ambiente y oyes mucho mejor la conversación que estás teniendo con tus amigos. También ayudan cuando estás en casa pasando la aspiradora, estudiando, o tu vecino está taladrando 50 agujeros para cuadros un domingo a las ocho de la mañana. Son muy discretos y no sobresalen nada, mis amigos no caen en que los llevo puestos hasta que me doy la vuelta y se fijan. Viene con dos moldes de silicona de diferente tamaño por si tienes el canal auditivo más pequeño. El cilindro metálico en el que vienen es perfecto para engancharlo a las llaves y llevarlos siempre contigo. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente a todo el mundo, sean amantes de los conciertos o no.
