Great stuff
Excellent stuff used it on my old landy soft top which hadnt been treated for years . It totally transformed it , i put two coats on and when it rains now the water just beads up and runs off instead of soaking into the fabric and making it damp inside, the fabric feels more pliable now so ill be buying more and treat the top once a year there was more then enough to do two coats ,i would recommend to have a wet cloth to wipe of any drips from the paint work when applying product .

Beads water on a soft top like a just-waxed roof.
OK, this stuff is brilliant. I have never used a product lke this, never even thought about it. I just assumed the soft top on my convertible was meant to go damp and dry out as the sun hit it. Hey, I never got wet inside so why would I worry? But this stuff is amazing, it's like putting a plastic shell over your roof which has been polished. I painted my convertible top in about 40 minutes, out of direct sunlight. When it dried I threw a glass of water over it and was amazed - the water literally raced off the top of it! I will try and post a video as I was amazed, this stuff is so simple to paint on (use a normal 2 inch paint brush, or smaller or larger - size really doesn't matter) and let it dry. Tips: Paint from the middle out Don't paint in direct sunlight IF YOU ARE THINKING OF DOING THE ROOF DYE REPAIR., DO IT ******BEFORE****** YOU APPLY THIS STUFF. This product will bead any liquid you put onto a soft top after application, it is brilliant. A 500ml bottle does a medium soft top with a bit left over. Finally make sure you clean it off the paintwork afterwards - you can polish it off but its a pain so catch it quickly. Update April 2016 - I have just re-waterproofed my roof using this great stuff again. I should really have done it last year as it seems that the waterproofing lasts about 1 season, but ran out of time. By way of update I got 500ml to do two coats of the roof again, I think 1 litre as recommended would be overkill. I applied the first coat, waited 4 hours then did a second using a paint kettle and 2 inch brush. To get the proofer to cover the roof you have to "splot" the brush a bit onto the roof and then when it starts to soak in you can spread it with the brush. Again, make sure you don't let the stuff get on the paintwork. This time when it happened I immediately diluted with water and then used a chamois to get off. I have uploaded a couple of pics showing how I applied it, wrapping a dust sheet around the car, with a before pic showing how soaked the roof was normally and an after pic, plus a quick video of just how good this stuff is. It also helped to have the roof raised slightly off of the A pillar so the proofer didn't drip onto the windscreen and caught on a sheet on the inside instead.

Good, not a miracle worker
I have a 14 year old BMW E46 convertible. I never did anything special to the roof before and it started to look a bit tired and grey. So July 2014 I bought 500ml each of the Cleaner, the black Reviver and this Ultra Proofer. The cleaner certainly took off more dirt than normal cleaning, although having paid a lot for the stuff I was probably trying harder too. The dye made it look very nice and black while the proofer made the canvas repel water like it were metal. The one thing it will not do is completely even out the crease marks and shiny bits where the roof rubs when folded. I am guessing nothing will do that. All in all a good buy. I will probably do it once a year from now on.

Great stuff
My soft top was filthy with green algae, after a good thorough clean, I then painted this stuff on, superb, lovely to see the water run off as advertised.

Very happy and the soft top looks like new.
I used this to re waterproof the soft top on my 2006 Audi A4 cabriolet. First I cleaned the top using Renovo's soft top canvas cleaner and a soft top cleaning brush that I also bought on Amazon. I cleaned the top twice and used about half of the half litre bottle of cleaner. The hood came up really clean but there were some minor stains that did not come out probably from tree sap. I then used the Renovo black soft top reviver and managed to get one coat on the top from the half litre bottle. It did a good job of hiding the minor stains. I did this outdoors as I don't have a garage and after about two hours on a cool August evening I checked and the restorer was touch dry. I then covered the hood using a thin plastic painting drop sheet of 4 meters by 4 meters and left it over night. The next morning was showery so during a dry spell I applied the Renovo ultra proofer and only just had enough to give it one coat from the half litre bottle. I let it get touch dry and then recovered it with the plastic sheet couple of times when rain showers came through and uncovered it each time afterward. The soft top which was a bit stained and green in places looks like new. When it rains lightly the water beads up on the top but if it rains heavily the top will appear to be wet. Here is a tip for those who are going to clean and reproof their convertible tops, before you apply the restorer or reproofer use a lint roller to remove the small fibres that have been left behind from scrubbing the soft top fabric with the brush. I got some of the restorer and reproofer on the windows and the trims around the top but it was easy to clean off with a damp cloth. Overall I am very happy and the top looks like new.

Excellent Roof Protector
I've used Autoglym for years, but wanted a change. The Renovo has been superb, after cleaning the roof and letting it dry it was easy to apply with a brush. The 500ml size was enough for two coats on the Boxster roof, with some left over. The Golf Cabrio took 500ml and the residue from the first bottle, so for a four seater I'd suggest a 1l bottle. Both roofs look great and the water beads off nicely.

Worth it
Bought as part of the kit. Used on a dark blue Boxster roof. Small car, so was sufficient for two coats. Does improve the look dramatically, but beware that it looks great in the garage, and less great in direct sunlight. Lighter than I thought it'd be. Maybe a third coat would have helped. Also, you'll have to mask up the car, and/or be very diligent about wiping up immediately after application. Because it's applied by brush, it gets flicked everywhere, and it also runs downhill onto the winscreen, windows etc. Don't be naive enough to think it'll completely remove scuffs. If the roof was scuffed before, it'll be scuffed afterwards, even if the scuffs are slightly less noticeable. But overall it was worth the money and effort.

Pro's: Repels water well even after one coat - Con's: Expensive for such a small bottle.
I've used this product on both a 2001 Vauxhall VX220 canvas roof, and a 2004 VW Beetle Convertible. I've not tried Autoglym's alternative - so can't compare this product - but I hear that it's a good product also. I applied this product to both vehicles following the application of Renovo's Canvas Cleaner (a product which I was less impressed with). Obviously, your external roof surface has got to be clean prior to using the Ultra Proofer, as it will part seal in whatever is showing on your roof, for a time at least. Tip: In addition to whichever cleaning solution you opt for, I found an adhesive roller, like the Caraselle Lint/Pet Hair Remover (£4.50ish) really useful at getting hairs and all sorts of other material off the roof surface. You'd be surprised what it difference this tool makes visually, particularly on roofs more than a few years old. A single 500ml bottle of Ultra Proofer will not go very far if you're clumsy with this liquid or apply it unevenly. Take your time when applying and DO follow the instructions particularly with regard applying the product in a single session if possible. If you have to apply the product over two sessions (as I did once) then try to complete a roof 'panel' at least, and paint the product as far a seam (or join) on the roof material, so that any disparity in the application won't show. The product works well, and both roofs now nicely repel and bead water on the surface. If you use a high-pressure washer, then avoid the roof surface altogether. Rinsing the roof with a high-pressure lance will simply take off any previous weather-proofing straight away. Hope this helps.
