Very First Words in Irish (Usborne First Words Board Books) Board book – 1 Dec. 2007

Good quality finish board book, covers a large selection of first words. Just a shame it can't help me with pronunciation!

I bought this for my daughter who is starting an Irish pre-school (naonraí). This little book is just perfect as it has the pictures with the words.....perfect for those first cupla focal!!!! I would recommend buying the irish flashcards as well with pictures. I searched every bookstore in Ireland but i finally found this one on amazon which is perfect. Thank you amazon!!!

Very good book, got it for my three year old and she reads it every night, it’s seen better days and the spine is ripped but that’s nothing to do with the quality of the book.

Beautiful illustrations. Just lovely. My husband is Irish and I surprised him with this for our baby.

Although it was a smaller than I thought. It turned out to be a great size after all especially for little ones. The words are all grammatically correct with no errors. Don't expect there to be a pronunciation guide for the book. It doesn't say that there is and in my experience with languages,they generally don't do this with books, especially children's books.

I gave this book as a gift for a one year old. The parents loved it. I would only recommend getting the book for parents who speak Gaelic, though, because there are no phonetic pronunciation guides.

I bought this book at Amazon as my introduction to Irish. It is a wonderful start. I liked the idea of the pictures illustrating each word. The boardbook is sturdy, the colors lovely and the print easy to read. I just wish there were a sequel with the second hundred words.

I like this book for the fact that it got my children interested in speaking Irish but I wish that there was a pronunciation guide. I was able to look up the pronunciation online but they got bored waiting for me to look up each one....they would enjoy it more if it was right there in the book and it would also be easier for them to memorize the words that way.
