Great phone & excellent customer service
Purchased this phone for my elderly father who lives in assisted living period. He has hearing, speech, grip, and mobility issues that affect his ability to use a telephone without assistance. The handset has a grip pad on it which makes it easy for him to hold the handset when using the phone. It also has a speaker phone for a hands free option and this is particularly helpful for conference calls. There are 3 memory buttons you can set up to program 3 different numbers for one button push dial. This makes it really easy for my dad to call us if he needs anything in case he forgets our number. When we received the phone we followed the instructions and registered it. When we went to set up the phone we made a mistake without knowing it and plugged the handset into the outjack on the back of the phone. For some reason we completely missed the handset Jack on the side of the phone. Needless to say we didn't get the phone to work and we were very frustrated. The next day I had resigned myself to purchase a different phone when customer service from Terry phone reached out to me via text to ask me how it went with. The installation of the phone. I told them that we couldn't get the phone to work and I thought it was defective. They responded with some troubleshooting things to try to see if we could get the phone to work. I was certain I had done everything right? The first time and was reluctant to try but I did anyway. Needless to say when I Followed the customer service reps (THANK YOU, MARY!) suggestions that's when I discovered the jack for the handset on the side of the phone. I was embarrassed about being such a dimwit. But I was extremely happy that the phone was now working and I didn't have to get a new one after all. My dad absolutely loves the phone it's easy for him to use. I would recommend this phone for anyone.

Great for those needing a basic phone
My 100 year old mother, who still lives alone, has really been struggling lately with her memory and understanding how her 3 different cordless handsets worked. I wanted to get her something easier to use, though she does lose the flexibility of taking it with her. Having the 3 speed dial buttons on top have greatly helped her in calling the 3 most important numbers. The sound quality is better than when she had to cordless hand sets, but if she doesn't keep the mouth piece right by her mouth, the audio on the other side is difficult to hear. I've put the ringer on the loudest setting. It could go higher since her hearing is really declining. She has actually slept through it ringing right next to her bed. Since she is on VOIP internet phone, we could only have it in her bedroom, which she couldn't hear in the living or kitchen (small house very centralized). I purchased a splitter for the voip modem, a long extension cord and a 2nd phone so she can have the 2nd one in the living room. This has greatly cut down on her anxiety and frustration on trying to push the little buttons on the cordless. I would recommend this to anyone who has trouble seeing or pressing the buttons on a smaller phone. The only thing that is missing, is adding a built in answering machine. I had to buy her a separate unit for that function, and now she's confused about what that is 😦

An Excellent Phone with GREAT Customer Support
Acenis' large button phone is idea for my dad. He ha macular degeneration and these big numbers are just perfect for him. The black numbers on a white background are easy to see and there's very little chance of fat-fingering numbers when dialing out. There are also three memory-dial keys at the top for frequently dialed numbers that can be labeled with pictures for ease of recognition. There's also a soft grip on the phone for a more secure hold. The first phone we received could only receive calls and wouldn't dial out. We tried the trouble-shooting options and none of them worked, so I contacted Acenis' customer service group. They confirmed we tried the various trouble shooting options and offered a few more things for us to try, which also didn't work. They apologized for the problems and sent us out a new phone that worked perfectly. There was no back-and-forth, no weeks of delay -- they were fast and remained in communication until we received the phone. If you have parents with vision issues and are looking for a landline phone that'll help them easily make calls -- you've found it. And the fact that the company stands behind the quality of their communication products makes this an easy choice.

Great customer service & life saver product
Long story, but had difficulty with the first phone. I had bought it for an elderly relative who raised a handicapped grandchild. With the picture buttons, the now adult grandchild could call someone if something happened to the grandmother. Not sure what happened, but after I programmed the buttons, she later unplugged the phone (which causes it to reset) to put the pictures in. Then it didn’t work. She didn’t understand how to reset. I was very ill for several months and out of town with surgeries and hospital stay. When I was able I went and tried to reprogram the phone numbers. I could not get it to reprogram except for only one number. I contacted customer service and they were extremely helpful, receptive, and immediately responded. After trying all that they ask me to try, they offered me another phone. I installed the new phone and had no issues. All is well. Customer service contacted me again to make sure all was OK and that I was able to program it with success. Although we had difficulty with the first phone, everything was extremely easy to get help from a very pleasant customer service rep, named Mary. Mary made sure that I was able to help these two individuals whose situation is difficult. They love the phone and it is easy enough for the grandchild to just touch the programmed picture to get help. I will have to say that it is the most pleasant customer service I have ever had to deal with and that the Terry phone is and could be a real life saver.

Phone for sight/hearing impaired mom
The phone itself is lightweight and the large numbers are wonderful. Hand piece easy to hold due to the neoprene sleeve. When I assembled it, I accidentally plugged in one of the ends of the phone cord into the Fax slot but the phone did ring when someone called and was able to communicate. After realizing this, I corrected the connection but no change (PS... VERY hard to see button settings). However, was unable to program the one touch speed dial as the "Store" button did not work nor could I dial out the regular way because there was a constant dial tone. No Customer Service phone number so I emailed..... took 2 day to respond. In the meantime, I returned to the Verizon store where I needed to buy a $100 modem to plug the landline into as no more wall plugging since the modem uses cells to operate. The Verizon agent somehow fixed the phone quickly and now it works. But, I have to say, the loudness option for my hard of hearing mom on the handset is not that great. She still doesn't hear the caller well. Good for 911 calls though.

Great phone for the elderly!
I don't usually write reviews but this phone has changed my mom's life for the better. My mothers is 84 years old. She complained constantly about not being able to see the numbers on the phone to call her friends and family. She misdialed people all the time. I tried writing the telephone numbers in bold to help her. But she still couldn't see the numbers or buttons on the phone to push. So I decided to order this phone to see if this would work for her. This phone is the absolute BEST phone for the elderly. It has a huge number display with a padded receiver. The sound quality is great and you can even adjust the volume and the ring tone. I have tried other phones. Even the one furnished for free with the words appearing on the screen as one speaks, that doesn't work if you can not see the words being spoken. This Big Button phone is the one you need to get, hands down. There have been no more misdials or complaints about her phone since I ordered this Big Button phone. We are super happy that the issue has been resolved. 5 Stars for sure !!!!!

Ringer is not loud at all
Bought this for an elderly friend who is very hard of hearing. The phone is very light weight and worked great, the padded hand grip was also nice for arthritic hands and the volume for the receiver was good but the ringer volume was terrible. We had it up as high as it would go and it wasn't as loud as the regular phone she has. My hearing is great and I couldn't even hear the ringer that well and the display light that indicates it's ringing couldn't be seen unless you were right up on the phone. I ended up returning it because it was of no use since she couldn't hear it ring. Very disappointing since that was one of the main reasons I purchased it.

Nice loud phone (adjustable volume)
Nice phone - - - loud ring -- - loud speaker - - - red light when phone rings. Nice big number buttons , but there are no letters on the buttons (sometimes phone #'s for businesses are words instead of numbers). Also, no caller ID , but I knew that when I bought it. I had to buy a shorter cord to hang the phone on the wall and use that phone jack. I had to buy a longer curly cord so I could sit at the kitchen table (although I could just use the speaker).

Great for Seniors
My mother is in her 90’s and is hard of hearing and has mascular degeneration and can’t see well. They instituted the area code be dialed with the phone number and she just couldn’t dial the numbers quick enough and the call wouldn’t go through . This was a safety concern for us as she is still living alone but wouldn’t be able to call us if needed. We were able to put three contacts on her phone that all she would need to do is push one button - worked great and easy to program. I find the phone really loud but works perfectly for her as she is so hard of hearing. Would recommend for seniors.

Super responsive
This phone is great and does what it says. One touch picture dial for a recent stroke victim is a game changer. Lots of volume settings too for seniors who are hard of hearing. We thought we had an issue with the first phone we ordered so we made a return. Turns out it was user error. Embarrassed to say we didn’t see the small jack on the side to connect the handset. Nonetheless, the return process was super smooth, and because I had already set up the warranty with the “Terry” company via text message, the staff was incredibly responsive and helpful, offering a full return if I had trouble processing it through Amazon. Got the second phone quickly and everything worked perfectly. Purchase with full confidence that you will have support if needed. Would order from them again anytime.

Ideal for seniors that have trouble calling from cell phones ( small numbers).
The phone works great . Numbers are nice and big .. the only issue I have is the ring tone .. it is a piercing type of sound . Other than that it’s good.
