Artbin Art Bin Super Satchel Box with Removable Thread Trays

This is a great storage for your cottons, holds lots and keeps them far enough apart to still be able to see colours clearly.If i were to suggest a minor design tweak, it would be to make the box, and the posts, 6mm or so deeper so matching machine bobbins you have wound can be stored on same post as main spool. Its ok with older style spools, the short fat type, but more modern gutermann, coats moon, etc are too tall to add the bobbin as well. However, this is NOT a complaint, only a suggestion. The box is sturdy, well made, the clips feel secure and like the will last, and being able to life the racks out is useful too. Highly recommend!

The box does hold lots of threads and it is sturdy like most things if you could move the prongs around some closer some wider it would be excellent,It does what I need though I can now see my threads at a glance so maybe it will stop me buying duplicates .

Very sturdy, takes Gutterman and Coates reels very well. (Loved the Reviewer’s hint about extending the spindles with the addition of drinking straws - very useful for pairing bobbins and cotton reels) - thank you. Very sturdy, fastens securely, easy to pick colours, keeps colours of the cottons together, plenty of room for bits and bobs underneath the trays - I’m currently using it for storing pre-cut face masks bits to keep them tidy as I machine them together. Brilliant piece of kit - AND I got the label off first go without any problem with just a tiny bit left on which came off with a quick scratch - AND no sticky residue!

I have been looking for a storage solution for my spools and matching bobbins. I wanted something that I could seal up....the usual pronged stands either hang on the wall or take up desk space and I did not want either of these options.This seemed to match what I wanted.And to a large extent it does.It seals firmly and I can put it on its side without the spools/bobbins falling out. If you place it with handle at the top, the base is designed so it stands upright and not at an angle.The catch and handle is a different colour (greyish beige) than the translucent white plastic of the rest. The two trays with prongs are removable and white in colour....the material is more brittle than the rest.There are 5 rows of prongs in each tray...with the middle row of each being off-set from the other 4 rows.Do the spools fit?......Yes and no.....if you have thread spool huggers...then no you have to leave spaces between spools.Are the prongs long enough to have spool and bobbin on the same prong?...No, if you put the bobbin on first, then the spool and bobbin is too high and the lid won't close. If you put the spool on first, the prong does not extend over the spool. So either way, the bobbin has to sit next to the spool on its own prong.This means that the box can't be accidentally inverted....when it's upside down, mostly the spools stay put but the bobbins don't.Will I return it?.....No, it does most of what I want for this set of outlining threads.Will I buy another?...No, when I tried it with my Gutterman threads, the niggles were still there.For it to work more effectively it needs to have longer prongs with a consequently slightly deeper depth to the box and it needs to have a larger spacing of prongs, so larger spools/spools with thread huggers can be accomodated.All in all, it's designed by someone who does not sew and who did try to fit the design brief.....but just missed enough to irritate.

Bought this to store my threads and bobbins, which it does, but it’s excessive in size, kind of cheap looking and ugly, so I would definitely buy something more aesthetic to replace it in the near future.

Very pleasing storage unit. After reading reviews about the sticky label being impossible to get off I had decided to leave it on. I just couldn't do it though as it hadn't been stuck on quite straight - how annoying is that! There is a knack to get it off with not leaving too much residue but it does involve having nails. If you pick a bit of the edge up - enough to get hold of and tear a piece off - and stop! Don't tear a piece off but pick some more until your picked area/depth is twice as big as you originally thought was good enough to tear off. Then carefully tear and for some reason a chunk of the label will come off not leaving a layer of paper and/glue. Repeat until the label is off. Its not perfect but only left a small amount of residue to have to use chemicals on.The box is bigger than I anticipated and so I will have to start sewing more to fill it up!

The perfect case for organizing threads for paper and hand piecing. If you can’t see your threads, you can’t use them. This case was used to blend threads from two stashes by color. The case holds, by my count 108 spools - two internal trays each holding 54 spools in 5 rows: 11 per row on the outer 4 rows and 10 in the inner row. The clasps are sturdy and the handle folds out of the way. The case will keep these beautiful threads dust free. These quality threads keep well and are gradually used over decades so this is key advantage to this type of case. This case is sturdy enough to last beyond my own sewing career and pass along to another quilterI looked over a lot of thread storage solutions. This case beautifully organizes the Gutterman and Mettler threads - both the small 150M and medium 200M, 250M, 500M and 800M all fit well. Had 2 YLI pearl cotton 100 yard spools and they also easily fit this case.This was the perfect solution for organizing the type and quantity of threads from two stashes. The case is a good value as high quality thread is not inexpensive. Ordering the colors revealed duplicates and gaps between the two sets. Every spool is now visible and at the ready for English paper piecing and appliqué sewing projects.

Ich habe mittlerweile 3 Boxen, kaufe demnächst eine vierte (Nähgarn Baumwolle, Nähgarn Leinen und andere Naturnähgarne, Stickgarne und neu demnächst Kunststoffgarne).Mit der weiter unten beschriebenen Strohhalm-Lösung kann ich auch problemlos die Unterfäden mit den Spulen zusammen aufbewahren. Wenn man die Strohhalme fest aufdrückt, kommen sie auch nicht mit runter, beim Spulen und Unterfaden Herausholen.Und: Ich kann meine Strohhalme noch einem sinnvollen Zweck zuführen (habe mittlerweile Glas, Bambus und Metall für Drinks, wenn benötigt).Unter den Einlagen kann ich noch meine Bestell-Infos auf Papier zu den Garnen aufbewahren - bei der Menge verliert man schon mal den Überblick, wo man die her hat.Für mich: Perfekt!!!

Great organizer for the sewing room! Really helps reduce clutter and makes thread easy to find

Dopo tanti anni finalmente ho trovato un contenitore per tenere tutte le spagnolette di filo in ordine e facilmente individuabili. Le ho sempre tenute in un cestino, ma si aggrovigliavano sempre l'una all'altra e quando dovevo sceglierne una di un certo colore che magari era in fondo dovevo tirarle fuori tutte e sgrovigliarle ... un casino. Questo contenitore è grande, robusto, i rotolini stanno tutti in piedi ed in ordine e si trova facilmente quello che si vuole. Forse è un po' troppo grande e non è facile trovare un posto dove riporlo, però una volta trovato è veramente utile e pratico. E' fatto a valigetta ed anche durante il trasporto le spagnolette rimangono al loro posto. Consiglio l'acquisto. Imballaggio adeguato e consegna puntuale.

Cette valise de rangements est parfaite! 😍J'en avais marre de ne pas pouvoir ranger mes bobines correctement, je ne voyais pas l'état de mes stocks et me suis trouvée à racheter une couleur alors que je l'avais déjà... de quoi râler un peu... 😤Du coup, avec cette valise, toutes mes bobines sont bien rangées. 😊Cette valise mesure 40x40x10, et elle permet de stocker 110 bobines de fil.Le rangement de la valise peut se faire horizontalement ou verticalement. Ce n'est pas négligeable quand on sait le volume que prennent les affaires de couture...Les deux plateaux sont amovibles si vous souhaitez ne ranger qu'une partie en bobines et le reste avec vos ciseaux, etc.Vous l'aurez compris, j'en suis vraiment très satisfaite et ne peut que vous recommandez cet achat si vous souhaitez ranger correctement vos bobines...
