Excellent Value
I was sceptical of ordering these as I had bought earphones to replace the standard ones that come with mobile phones etc before and it's never turned out well. In the past I've spent varying amounts up to £50 on earphones all of which, although providing better sound quality than the standard, have promptly fallen apart within a month. I use earphones with my phone, day to day and they are often just stuffed in a pocket or left dangling. The Sennheisers etc I have purchased in the past have all not been up to the task. I think I have found the solution. Firstly the sounds quality of these is really very good. The bass, mids and trebles all seperate nicely and they work well for podcasts, audibooks, classical, pop, dance, rock and metal music. They certainly match the quality of the source digital files and the mobiles playback. Secondly they are extremely well built. The wiring is very robust and finished in a way I have not seen before. The ear phones themselves are cased in metal and seem to be very tough. They taken a few knocks already that would have ruined previous sets, including shutting the main cord in a car door. The nice surprise for me was they come in a really good looking and well made case and with a more than sufficient set of inner ear pieces or varying sizes and shapes. This was unexpected at this price point. All in all unless you want to spend a fortune on a set of earphones you have to worry about all the time when you are out I think these represent a robust and excellently performing solution for less money than seems reasonable. By far the pick of the value market for me in sound quality and reliability.

Excellent little earphones
After my Klipsch S4i headphones snuffed it I was looking for a set of earphones that wouldn't cost the world but would provide a lovely sound. Initially I had passed over these earphones because I hadn't heard much about them. What a mistake that turned out to be. After reading a couple reviews I was impressed by the praise and decided that even if they were half as good as they were supposed to be, for £30 that's no real loss! The first thing I noticed was how well they were packaged. Upon opening them I realised that you are also provided with a little carrying case + a clip to secure them, which is actually a nice touch. You are also provided with an abundance of earphone tips to choose from (I counted 7 pairs in total) So finding a perfect fit is almost certain! The cable, whilst a little skinny, feels like it is wrapped in a tough plastic and is not the soft usual plastic you get on earphones like Apple's. I like it, others might not. The headphones are milled from aluminium and have a nice sturdy weight to them but don't feel unstable in my ears either. But now for the big one - the sound. I am by no means an expert so my judgement is merely what I feel. To me the bass is tight and powerful, but not overwhelming like the JVC Xtremes or Beats. The midrange generally felt quite distinct, although sometimes floundered when the tracks became heavy in both higher and lower frequencies, albeit, I would say that this is potentially due to my DAC which is noted for a less than excellence midrange reproduction. The treble doesn't really sparkle but is crisp and not harsh, which makes listening to the higher frequency a nice experience and not one of flinching. The overall reproduction is actually quite impressive, especially considering the price tag. The soundstage feels vastly wide and not small like some headphones reproduce. That being said, you don't get volume control or buttons on the cord. Personally I never use them so this isn't really a loss to me, but it might be to others so be warned! So overall. The sound produced is actually a pleasure to listen to! The soundstage feels a lot larger than what it is and sound feels very natural. The refined sound and construction really screams that this was cleverly engineered. At £30 this is an absolute steal and easily justifies why this set of earphones has won so many awards. I would recommend without hesitating, even if they were double the price!

Mixed feelings - really strange strengths and weaknesses
First, I'm not a big user of earphones, so bear that in mind with my comments. I'm also a very late adopter of mobile technology. I eventually realised that I needed earphones to make better use of my recently acquired smart phone and I've always thought the 'speakers' on my iPad mini were tinny beyond belief. So I searched for recommendations on the web and these earphones were praised everywhere. Some reviews even suggested you'd have to spend 3-figure sums to get better sound. So I took the plunge. APPEARANCE: They do look good. I know that shouldn't be a major factor, but the packaging, presentation and the 'phones themselves all contributed to a value-for-money feeling. Here they're described as 'silver/black', but there's no silver visible anywhere - they're a gray/black combination. Personally I find it attractive. CONTENT: At this price I think I expected to receive a pair of earphones and nothing else. I was surprised, pleasantly so, to see what else was provided. There's a really tidy hard-shell storage case. It's about 2.5" square - jet-black with a bright red zip closure all the way round the middle. Inside, each half-shell has a mesh net pocket extending full-width and about half-way up its open height. Looks well constructed and very useful. In one of the mesh pockets was a small SoundMAGIC spring-clip, presumably for attaching the earphone cable to a collar or other item of clothing. In the other was a plastic bag with the writing "SoundMAGIC Ear hook Comfortable rubber earhooks for cable back to ear" Through the plastic I could see what turned out to be 6 different pairs of rubber tips for the earphones (different sizes and shapes) and what looked like a small pair of bent plastic rods. I assumed they were the 'earhooks'. Surprise! When I emptied the bag, I got rubber tips, but it turned out the earhooks were actually an image printed on the clear plastic bag. Very strange. I still can't explain this. Nevertheless the different sized tips have provided me with a really comfortable fit, and I don't feel like I need any hooks or clips to keep them in place. SOUND: The earphones themselves are surprisingly, to me, very good indeed. Since I got them I have listened to classical and jazz music, solo instruments and large ensembles, and the 'phones are genuinely very pleasing and satisfying. However, the cable is incredibly noisy! I don't know if this is a characteristic of all earphones of this type or only these. When I move around, or even just turn my head, the cable brushing against my clothes or head generates thumps and rumbles that are incredibly distracting. To get some idea of what I'm talking about and see if your own 'phones have the same issue try this test: pinch the cable at any point really tightly with one hand, using your thumb and one or two forefingers; now, using the other hand, flick the cable with your forefinger above where you've pinched it and again below where you've pinched it. I find these two conditions massively different. The 'below' flick causes no problems - all the cable vibrations and noise get trapped and damped out by my pinched thumb and fingers. But the 'above' flick produces a massive thump in my ears as all the cable noise is transmitted straight to me ears. It's as if the cables were acting as a microphone. It may be, but it's not clear, that this is exactly why the spring-clip is provided - to anchor the cable as close to your head as possible. SUMMARY: Build, appearance, extras, basic sound quality, all seem 'good' verging on the 'excellent'. But until I've resolved this cable noise I can't say this will be my preferred method of listening. I'm happy to persevere because the positive impressions of everything else in this purchase make me feel there has to be a way around it.

Indestructible & amazing sound for the price!!
These are awesome!! I like to wait a while before reviewing things....especially headphones. I bought these two years ago (wired - no mic), and have used them virtually every day since. I mainly use them at night in bed, as I suffer tinnitus and need help getting off to sleep. (I'm getting to the relevant part). Therefore, I have these in my ears most of the night and this results in the cables being pulled/twisted/bent....and they've survived totally unscathed. The plastic coating is very well made and is showing no wear and tear, and the input jack is very well made and again, unscathed. I really didn't expect them to last this long given how I was going to be using them. I did have a slightly more expensive pair from another maker, but they only lasted 12 months. The sound is crisp, even with deep bass. When I'm not in bed with them, I like listening to heavy metal music (mostly Iron Maiden) so that gives you an idea of what kind of paces I'm putting these bad boys through. They pick up both high and low end frequencies and no sound is missed. You can tell there has been an awful lot of effort put into these headphones, as the drivers give off an amazing sound for something in this price bracket. The design is great and the comfort is very good! I actually had to look at the description again as I thought they were noise cancelling headphones when I tried them. They really do block out an awful lot of sound, even when there's no music being played. ( I have even slept through my alarm with them on and no sound playing!!). Importantly too, when you're playing music, no one else can hear it, as the sound waves are kept inside by the well designed ear buds. I'm not going to lie and say that there is no noise transference from the cable. However, as stated above, these are almost in the budget headphone category compared to some. As I like to describe it, it's like shopping for a ford and coming home with a Ferrari! There are ways around limiting noise transference though, so you should look into that and buy these. You will NOT regret it.....awesome product at an unbelievable price!

Simply put, buy them.
I'm not really one for writing reviews and such, so I'll keep this as short as I can. I recently decided to start gathering my entire music collection into FLAC files, as the hit & miss nature of a lot of mp3's was getting on my wick a little during playback. Then, I bought a new phone, an LG G2, which has the capability to play 24bit 192khz audio files, so using a Meenova OTG device I started to load all my FLAC files for playback. I plugged in my trusty old Sennheiser CX300's, and noticed the sound was rather 'muddy', nothing was very clear. I was a bit disappointed as these are perfectly nice earphones, but a goof few years old and maybe on their way out. So, I tried the LG Quadbeat 2 earphones that came with my G2. Immediately the sound was better, crisp, plenty of detail, but maybe lacking in bass and sounding a little bright I guess, but that is something I usually quite like. For a pair of free bundled in box earphones, they are brilliant. However the cable noise was irritating, and I couldn't help but think I was missing out on some detail and sharpness to the tracks. I researched and read reviews on independent hi-fi sites, and amazon etc, and decided that as I wasn't made of money sadly, I could either buy the Sennheiser CX300 II, or the Soundmagic E10. Having already had Sennheisers before, and wanting something with a different look, I opted for the Soundmagic E10. And I know I made the right decision! They look nice, the aluminium body feels nice, the connector feels quality and the 'twisted' cable is a bit different in styling terms too, but in a good way. They came with a nice small zip around pouch for storage and for storing the multiple ear tip selections it comes with. I went for the double flange option, ran the cable over my ear and pushed them in 'upside down' as that works best for me for fitting. Sound isolation is excellent without leaving you completely oblivious to things like traffic etc. And finally, the sound. As soon as I plugged them into my G2 and hit play, it all made sense. The sound was rounded, more complete than it had been before. The bass sounds precise, but isn't intrusive. The recordings sound more detailed than I frankly expected, especially for this price. If you are still using the bundled ipod earphones or some tat like that, then upgrading to these will be the best thing you can do for your music and your ears. Ridiculously cheap for the quality, both of build and sound . . . at double the price they would still be excellent value.

Great sound quality but not without drawbacks
To start the review i'll say i'm not an audiophile I dont have lots of £100's headphones etc to compare these to, these were bought as a step up from the standard Iphone/Ipod Apple headphones. The difference is instantly noticeable details in the sound come through clearly particularly on bands such as The Flamming Lips, Tame Impala and jazz through these headphones is a revelation all the detail is there and I was wondering why I hadn't invested in better headphones years ago. Comfort is good if your used to the Iphone type buds then take the time to fit the right buds and test out whats most comfortable another reviewer reported that they only received a poor selection of choices but there were 7 different sets in mine varying in size it took a bit of trial and error but once done they were comfortable in the ear. They feel pretty sturdy and had no issues in the couple of months I have been using them and they come with a handy case to keep them clean and damage free. So why only 3 stars? Well there are a couple of drawbacks firstly no volume control I use an Ipod Classic and changing the volume is a hastle when it's in your pocket and you just want to make a slight adjustment it would have been nice to have a volume control on the headphones. However at this price I understand with this sound quality you dont get the extras. Now for the big draw back and the loss of 2 stars.....do you listen to music while you walk or move? If so these are not for you as every little bump and step is amplified into the headphone, when wearing a jacket as the cable rubs agains the fabric I can hear it in the sound! There just not useable on the move. Luckily I travel by train so when i'm on the train their perfect great sound quality comfortable and decent price but on the walk to the station....no so good. Im giving these 3/5 as the quality is so good but think before you buy due to the poor sound insulation.

Better Than The E50s?
Given the popularity of these earphones, the attractively low price, and the hundreds of 5 star reviews I was expecting great things. I tested these using a Oneplus One smartphone, and deployed the PA Tone oscillator to test frequencies. My reference budget in ear cans are the JVC HA-FX67, which currently retail as low as £15. I tested using a variety of compressed files at VBR or 320kHz sample rate. On first listening I was less than impressed with the E-10s. The sound seemed flat and un-engaging. Brian Johnson sounded distant and boxy on Stiff Upper Lip, and the double Young guitars had been rendered crunch-less. The beautiful vocals of Lily and Madeleine fared better, but again the instrumentation seemed to lack detail. Normally, I would do a lot more listening before turning to the test oscillator, but my curiosity was already tweaked! A sweeping test tone proceeding from subsonics up to supersonics (above 10kHz for me these days!) revealed a very smooth response with no peaks or troughs, with only a slight emphasis at 5kHz. Some reviews had criticised the bass response, so I turned to my standard bass test album, Public Image Limited's This is PiL. Sure enough, the bass appeared to be somewhat reduced at least subjectively. Returning to the oscillator test, I paid more attention to the bass and was able to discern no deficit, with the low bass especially well conveyed. Curious! I did notice that the stereo image was a little inconsistent, which is when the light began to dawn. I had fitted the standard ear buds that came with the earphones, choosing sizes that were equivalent to those I've been using for years (large for my right ear and medium for the left, yes, I have different sized ears!) But I hadn't got the fitting quite right! The biggest bud that these cans are supplied with doesn't completely fill my right ear, so I resorted to some old buds from another set of cans and the problem was solved. Turning to the infamous Gangnam Style I was able to confirm that the soundstage was now very accurate. Stiff Upper Lip still lacked some bite, but the bass was now well balanced. And Lily and Madeleine were surrounded by articulate instrumentation. Further listening revealed more details in the original signal, including some hitherto unheard amplifier noise on The Groundhogs’ Soldier. The more I listened the more I heard. In summary, the E 10s are technically very accurate, with few identifiable weaknesses in terms of end to end faithful reproduction of the sound signal. As ever with in ear cans getting an accurate fit with the ear buds is essential. The soundstage from left to right is astonishingly well presented and much more precise than my reference cans, which sound brash and splashy by comparison. At first hearing the E 10s may sound bass light, but that probably has more to do with the way most cans over emphasis the lower frequencies, often to the detriment of the overall signal. The E 10s are amongst the most accurate earphones I have ever tested, but that doesn’t mean they will sound good to all tastes. Accuracy isn’t what most people want. But the listener who is prepared to spend some time with them may learn to appreciate their honesty. UPDATE: After several years of excellent service and comfortable listening the cabling on these old friends finally gave way. I thought I'd "upgrade" to the SoundMAGIC E50s, which turned out to be a horrible mistake. They were too trebly, regardless of what I did. So, I ordered a new pair of the E10s, and I can confirm that they remain the best IEM I have ever used, and they are a great bargain, even if they do cost almost the same as the E50s.

Superb in-ear phones.
First of all I'd like to thank the company for a super quick delivery at no extra cost...24 hours from ordering to recieving..Well Done.!! Having recieved them I noticed right away that they were the updated version of them...having the anti tangle cable and a hard case to carry them around..I'm so glad I waited as I did not really fancy the pouch...The next thing I noticed upon opening the box and getting them out was the quality of not only the phones themselves but all the bits and bobs...You get several sets of extra ear buds (very generous in fact) and like I mentioend earlier you now get a hard case..NOT the pouch. The phones themselves are very well made and certainly look and feel the business, with an aluminium outer (I believe) and the finish was very neat of the paint job and decaling.I can't understand why some have said the build quality is poor...perhaps that's the case with the earlier versions, and maybe they have mistreated them someway...But these new incarnations are very well made in deed...as good as any other on the market for this price. As to the way they sound...I hooked them up to my Phone (which is able to play Flac and lossless music) and from the box they sounded amazing...Crisp..clear and a fairly good bass...I've run them in now for several days and the bass is perfect...Authoritive without being over the top..and the clarity has sweetend even more...I can understand now why they have won many top awards for the past 3 years.I've used these on my tablet and my laptop and I can find no faults with the quality of what they deliver...They also sound wonderful used with the 'Sandisc Sansa clip'..they are the perfect accompaniment as they do not take much power to use them, therefore saving you battery power....For those that complain about the tinny or none existant bass sound...Ignore what they say...they have no idea what they are talking about...These DO deliver great sound...the better the source the better these will deliver..!!! I have to say something at this point regarding certain peoples comments, especially when they say..These CHEAP phones this...Cheap that and cheap the other....SO WHAT if they are (which to be honest £35 isn't THAT cheap)..It doesn't make them any less in quality with what they can deliver, which is a fabulous sound...Expensive is NOT always the best believe me...Sound Magic have a great name and make some great phones of all types. All in all...Look no further to find a better sounding pair of in-ear phones...and not only for the money..You'd be wasting your money if you do, unless you spend around 3 times as much, and even then they would give them a run for their money....these will impress without having to rob the bank.

COME SUONANO? Addatto a tutti direi!

Great for the price
Build Quality: The new models come with twisted pair wires and helps improve the durability of the cable. The covering for the wires are plastic rather than rubber and lasts longer and is more durable. The IEM body, Y-junction and connecter are made from metal and is very strong. The Stress reliefs on the buds are color coded. Red (right) Blue (left) When you are spending this sort of money for IEMs, you expect them to last at-least 6 months; These will last you 18 months at-least and with company warranty of 12 months. Performance: The Earphones have a very neutral sound. The IEMs (In Ear Monitors) have good and quick hitting bass, but don't expect Ooodles of Bass though. The high end is also well refined and the mid-range really comes out especially in Vocals. You can consider them to be HiFi, so well worth the price. Reasonable clarity and separation for Hindi music, English pop and English rock. Good For: Vocals (Male & Female), Pop music, Piano solos, U-tube music videos Now the Cons, The buds on the IEMs are very below par and play spoil sport....you should save $5 a month and buy Comply Foam buds( $15) to rectify this problem. The default buds are not comfortable, does not isolate well and spoils the sound-stage. (there is also a double flange bud which I have not used yet)
