wanted something better then my phones own Microphone recording voice via the ...
This is a quality clip on Microphone / Mini Condenser. I bought this specifically to record audio for video editing for Youtube Videos, wanted something better then my phones own Microphone recording voice via the stock audio record app on the phone (i have a Note 8). Attaching this to my phone and opening the audio recorder is see a message stating audio being recorded via external mic. So this is simple plug and play. Audio record via this microphone is much more clearer and because i can clip the microphone closer to my mouth say on my shirt collars my voice is picked up much more clearly and at the same time this picks up less background noise. So i have nice clear voice audio that i can now record and include with my videos when i edit, although syncing separate audio files with video footage is not always the easiest job. This can also connect to your DSLR camera if it has a 3.5mm input Jack, unfortunately my current model a D3400 does not have this but if you have a DSLR that does this is an excellent addition to improve speech audio at a very cheap cost for you. I also like that this microphone comes with a single earphone, once you have recorded you can then play the file and hear the sound from the earphone. An added bonus this also functions as a handsfree kit for you phone. So for the price of this Microphone on Amazon i think this is an amazing product that very simple to set up and use and greatly improves voice capture compared to say you phones own microphone. A nice pouch is included to keep everything in, a there is a audio splitter adapter and extra foam cover for the microphone included

Good value, clear audio from industry standard chip and decent mic.
The microphone is in a strong steel enclosure, which clips very snugly to the clothing crocodile clip it comes with. I found the pickup drops off quickly as the distance of the mic from the audio source increases - which is ideal for a lavalier microphone to reduce background noise. The big block by the USB plug contains a AK5371 chip - it's an industry standard stereo microphone to digital encoder, and USB interface. Only mono pickup exists for this microphone because there's only a single one. Windows sees the input stream as stereo, but both channels will be identical. If you're recording, stick to mono recording to reduce the file size. The sponge wind shield works well enough, but if you want strong windproofing there are plenty of synthetic fur ones that will fit this microphone comfortably. If you ever lose the sponge wind shield, the package comes with a spare. I found a USB 3 port on a Dell PC DIDN'T even detect the microphone, while the same PC with a USB 3 hub attached with the mic plugged in worked instantly. What this means is modern USB 3 sockets may need a bit of playing around with. USB 2 sockets should not cause any issues. When I used the hub - Windows 10 didn't even install drivers, the device simply appeared in the "Sound recording" list! The audio is clear, and loudest from directly above the microphone, and the 1.5 meter cable is long enough to attach the mic while recording a podcast on your laptop or PC that's on the floor. You'll need a longer USB extension cable if you have your talent walking around.

Very Pleased
I have been looking for a decent lavalier mic for some time as I record a lot of video for social media and great audio is a key component to looking professional. The quality of this mic is great, it feels well made, the clip for attaching onto clothes is solid, the additional adapters covers a multitude of connection options and since this is 3.5mm it works in a standard headphone socket. I tested the connection and audio recording via my phone, it had no issue detecting that the mic was plugged in and the audio quality was good! I am very pleased with this product and would recommend if you are looking for quality recording quality at a reasonable price.

changes the pitch of your sound
I would give it 1 star as for my application(music) it's worthless but I want to be fair between: 1. It works ok for spoken voice and it works right out of the box. For this purpose and for the money, it's a good buy. (5 stars) 2. If you record music (instruments) or vocals, you need to know that it changes the pitch of the sound it receives, therefore it's totally useless for this purpose. You will sound a few Hz off tune. (1 star) Hence you've got 3 stars.

amazed at the audio quality for this price, recommended !!!!
purchased this as just a cheap mic for my girlfriend to use on skype calls, I myself use a blue snowball and was curious to see how well this cheap mic held up to a much more expensive alternative I recorded spoken word and singing on both and was amazed to see this cheap little mic did an excellent job . there were no problems with clipping or peaky audio and it was surprisingly good at providing a rather rich sound. in some cases, it was almost identical to the £60 alternative I tested it against. I have only had this a few hours now and do not think it is likely to last as long as a lot of the more expensive alternatives due to its cheap construction however for the price I would highly recommend this microphone especially for casual use in skype calls, recording basic voice over. it does seem to pick up a small amount of static noise and background noise but for a mic this cheap it is to be expected.
