Are these good for plugging a pedal directly into an amp? Ex. Are they long enough

No, they are very short! They are for plugging pedals into other pedals. You would still need a regular length guitar cable that plugs in from amp to pedal, and then you would use the three short cables to link several pedal together, and then a final regular length guitar cable to plug in to your instrument. I hope that helps!

Would this be the kind of pedel i would use for nirvana's smells like teen spirit

Vox vt(15-100)x modeling amps compatible with the tone room app have a setting to sound exactly like smells like teen spirit without any pedals once you plug it into your computer tablet or phone with the app.

As others mentioned, why do I keep getting generic non Planet Waves cables?

Sound great, good price point, and are constructed well

How many cables are contained in this offer? In total...

There are 3 cables, packaged together by the manufacturer.
