Will having it out of the bag for a while remove the chemically smell from the bag? I'm giving it for Christmas but it smelled bad when it got here.

Yes. My son's scarf does not smell. Letting it air out should help.

Is this a thick winter scarf or a thin cosplay scarf?

This is a REAL scarf for every winter day. It is not a cosplay only.

Is the patch supposed to be crooked? It was the first thing I noticed when I opened the package. Now, I notice it in the pictures they provided.

Can you wash the scarf? Does it need to be air dried?

I don't think I would wash it...probably dry clean. It's a very nice scarf, not cheap looking at all. Its a heavier scarf. Hope that helps.
